I like a lot of his songs and have been to a 4 of his shows in Australia, mainly pub or smaller venue ones, in the late 80's and early 90's. Some were ok but none were something i would rave about. He could sing some good songs at some and then make a right *uck up with others. Don't know if it was just him or the excess alcohol.
