My band are close to releasing our first single and I'm looking into which distributor to use.  It's a minefield, and which one to use seems a bit of a gamble. When I researched this a year or so ago, it looked like CD Baby with their one-off Pro payment (ensuring 100% royalties, for what that's worth) was a great option, but it seems that Pro has been retired and all that remains is their cheaper payment with a 15% cut of royalties. This is the 85th Riff of the Month (RotM) Challenge. The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until midnight on 23rd April 2024. All you have to do is ... Write a riff. It could be anything from a single RAW guitar track to a full mix of instruments or a Bass guitar riff. However, the focus must be on the riff.
