Why pay 7$ for bore cleaner when kerosene is the same thing? I made this discovery once while in the boonies and discovered I had forgot my Hoppes and I'd just put 300+ rounds of Chi com corrosive .308 through my FAL.it has no chrome bore and the thought of all that ammonia ammo rotting the guts out of my baby sent me into fits!then as I was filling my kerosene heater it dawned on me: "this stuff smells like GI bore cleaner!" I am thinking about picking up a crossbow so when SHTF and the bullets run out I can still bring home the bacon…looked at crossbows with 180lb pull for $80.00…Compounds are $300.00 plus…I use to hunt with re-curves and used an 80lb draw…Will I be well served buying the lesser cost bow and 200 arrows or? Just moved out to OK and I am going to try my hand at hunting this season. Bought a .308 rifle for deer and a 12 gauge to maybe try some waterfowl. I have never harvested any animal other than fishing. My main concerns are etiquette.
