July Fourth reminds us of the true meaning of freedom, belonging, and a forever home.
In August 2022, the Mesquite Animal Shelter received a call about an abandoned dog in an empty house. Left to fend for herself after her litter had been taken or sold, was a skinny, three-year-old blue and white Terrier Pit. Despite her circumstances, she remained cheerful and peppy, inspiring the shelter staff to name her Lark.
