Casey Coupchiak on her boat, the F/V Mera. Bristol Bay calls Casey Coupchiak home every summer. She remembers childhoods watching her grandmother smoke her own subsistence-caught salmon, and at age 18, she took over her grandpa Willie Coupchiak’s limited-entry fishing permit.
