Hi
I’m driving from Hook of Holland to Stockholm soon and would like any recommendations to stopover a couple of times for a couple of nights en route in the Cali.
Somewhere around Hamburg in Germany, Odense to Copenhagen in Denmark, Malmo to Stockholm in Sweden.
Any hints and tips for driving through these countries also appreciated.
Many thanks ..read more

We arrived in Calais yesterday and got straight on the toll road towards Paris. Just after the toll booth the gendarmes were pulling over all small vans and campers / motorhomes for a weight check.
Process for those that passed was very simple - roll front then rear wheels onto the weigh bridge. Then they check the weight vs registration document (we were 100kg under thanks to only 20l of water and fuel tank at 1/4 - water was planned due to weight worries, fuel was an unplanned weight...

Looking at going away this weekend staying Saturday and Sunday night in the Peak District. Had a quick look at the Carsington and Woodland campsites, can anyone recommend one over the other in terms of decent level pitch with cycle rides and places to visit/eat/drink within a reasonable walking or cycling distance.
Also anyone know the latest arrival time at Carsington? It doesn’t say on the booking app ..read more

HI all. I’m taking the ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland arriving morning of Sat 19May. I’m heading up to Denmark. I had intended driving until I was tired on the first day but I now realise that week-end is a holiday one in NL & Germany so I thought maybe I should book something. Does anyone have any thoughts on where would be a sensible place to stop-over on the drive and/or any recommendations of sites for a one night stop-over on the drive up to Denmark? Many thanks ..read more

Here's something that might be fun and informative to read about a race track with history and fascinating races since 1926, located in the Marne department, Champagne province, France.
About 12 years ago I visited the stands of Circuit de Reims-Gueux for the first time and I met some people from 'Les amis du Circuit de Gueux' (Friends of the Gueux Circuit). They talked passionately about their plans for the circuit and gave me a brochure and some stickers from their association. It...

Visitors tax is becoming universal. I guess it is a necessary evil. I hated applying it when I was in the holiday letting business and now I hate paying it. But I accept it. However, as a solo traveller, and this means one person of course, I object to paying for 2 people as a minimum. It means I pay double. There are rules and regulations governing the rates applied. Why should an organisation have the right to apply their own specific rates? Camping Car Parks in France want to charge...

Hi. We have managed to get some Olympic tickets in August and are looking to either camp in or around Paris, or leave the van in a secure car park then stay in Paris centre for a few nights.
Has anyone used secure parking near Paris or found a campervan friendly site within Paris itself?
Any tips or pointers would be most welcome.
Thanks
