Left snow in Ontario and now enjoying the beach on Jekyll Island. We like the campground here very much. Quiet, treed, great staff. The island is beautiful seascapes, southern landscape, lots of Spanish moss. Perfect temps, no bugs. This October, we will be visiting my sister who lives in Chandler, AZ and will be needing to find a relatively close (say within about 20 miles) campground to use as our base of operations for 2 weeks. I would appreciate any recommendations that you may have. Full hookups, wifi, pool, are all important ..read more

We live in Canada and have crossed into the USA many times with food. The only questions regarded citrus, so we knew to never bring any. However this was just brought to my attention, https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Artic...language=en_US Has anyone had any experience with this ? Is it new ? We are heading south in a week so need to decide what we can bring legally across with us. Thanks, Bob ..read more

We have not taken a longish trip in awhile. Today we left for our eclipse, Texas Hill Country, and visit my folks trip. We are at Sand Hills State Park in Hutchison, KS for two nights. Campground is decent. Hiking is more of just a walk. I have the traditional first night photo of Yoda and Padawan from the top of a sand hilll. Attached Images IMG_3276.jpg (346.9 KB ..read more

Parking the trailer for a few days?

Quick question if you are staying with someone in another city for a few days and not in your trailer, where do you leave it? We don't normally do that but in my case we will be visiting some family in Salt Lake City for a few days at the end of May and I thought I would find a place to just leave the trailer for a few days, then pick it up and get back on the road. I am thinking that I will approach an RV park or a RV Supply and Repair place and see if they have a reasonable secure spot to do that. I am willing to throw some money at them. I do have the good hitch lock. I don't want to leav ..read more

Hello, My wife and I just ordered our new Escape 19 and our current completion date is 6/20. Due to an appointment here, we won't be able to get out there to pick it up until 7/1. Then a couple nights stay in Sumas to test things out before we head back. My wife has never been to Glacier NP and has always wanted to go. So, we are planning to stop there for 2 or 3 nights on our way back home. However, looking at all the national park campgrounds, they are all booked around when we'd get there(weekend of 7/5). Does anyone have recommendations of other places to stay in this area? Boondocking i ..read more

I am considering taking a 10 day camping trip in mid April to somewhere warmer. I'm starting from Brockville ON which is near the top of the I-81 and hoping to get as far south as possible. I want a leisurely trip and will be spending a few days at most spots. My current thoughts are Frances Slocum State Park (Wilkes-Barre PA) (1 night), then Pocomoke River on the Delmarva (2 nights), and Goose Creek State Park on the Pamlico River (3 nights). Heading north, I'm thinking of Bull Run south of Washington DC for 3 nights to explore DC, and then home with another 1-night stop at Frances Slocum ..read more

Best Way to Get to Canyon De Chelly?

Planning our summer trip which will include Canyon De Chelly. Will be coming from TX in early June. In looking at the maps it looks like access is limited, with a fairly long drive on 191 from I 10, which is entirely in the Navajo Nation. We are concerned that there will little to no services along the highway. Would you suggest a different route? Once we get to Chinle we will probably stay at the Cottonwood campground and would appreciate any tips, particularly about guided tours, photo ops and things to do. Would not mind staying for 3-4 days ..read more

Ontario travel question

We’re driving between Thunder Bay and Kingston in late June. We are looking for a scenic drive with camp spots along the way. Should we go on 11 to North Bay and on to 41? Or take 17 to Sault Ste. Marie and around Georgian Bay, going through Toronto and across Lake Ontario? We have done the drive from Toronto to Kingston many times so it would not be new for us. Any ideas are welcome ..read more
