I just got back from a trip to the East coast for an extended wander, weather was damn near perfect for 9 days. For the first time I flew into Boston which is a bit unique, you see water under the plane until almost touchdown. Very weird experience and I enjoy flying. I saw a pier which I took note of to double back and see what it looked like from the land view. Also pretty interesting. Not much done to the images other then resizing. Mostly just wanted to share the optics of the planes... Read more ..read more

Hi everyone, Earlier this year, my wife and I took our 1.5-year-old daughter on a two-week trip to Italy. Our itinerary included Rome, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, and back to Rome. Since we had visited these locations before, we felt confident returning with our daughter for her first major international trip, knowing the lay of the land. The last time we visited was in 2021, during the height of Covid. That trip was one of our best because fewer people were traveling, and Venice was... Read more ..read more

Here are some images I have taken during 2 weeks in Italy, half in Tuscany and half on the Central Alps. All was great apart from the temperature: it was too hot most of the times. Even at 3000 mt I just needed a t-shirt... Shot with my R5 and 3 RF lenses: 85 1.2 (some portraits), 35 1.4 (misc shots) and 100-500 (macros, wildlife, panos) A lot of images - the panos are huge so they have been downsied a lot... I was traveling across the USA and I slept for a few hours in a truck stop. When I woke up, I used this ap on my phone called "Fotospot". It finds odd places and things nearby that people have photographed. The sun had not quite come up, and the ap showed "Cadillac Ranch" as an option. Hmmm, how far I wondered. 1.5 miles. Oh... All photos with an R3 and a RF 24-105 f4 L handheld ..read more

Traveling across New Mexico, I found myself passing 2 trains. I had the opportunity to stop and photograph then several times. I used a R3, an 8-15 EF, 24-105 RF F4 L, and a 100-400 RF lens. Please Note, I am NOT standing on railroad tracks in the above image. The tracks turn away to the left before reaching me ..read more

Antarctic trip and the question of which telephoto?
