War in. First time when I heard the name Kanonenfieber was in the end of 2021, when Dmytro Kumar, 1914 vocalist mentioned this name in the interview. I checked one or two songs, noted the good mix of black metal, death and catchy melodies but that’s all. However, everything changed drastically when I saw Kanonenfieber on stage at Hellfest. I got there with zero expectations but after an hour I became a huge fan, who digs deep into the lyrics and can’t get enough of the band’s music. And I believe I wasn’t the only one who was impressed so much: the music and theatrical show with uniforms, bala ..read more

Wintersun’s long-awaited sequel to Time I is finally out, and it’s more than worth the wait. What makes this album so interesting is that it feels like it started where its predecessor left off. It makes some nods towards Time I while still doing its own thing and more. Like Time I, it has a short instrumental intro, some long, very ambitious tracks and shorter ones. The songs function as sequels to each other, so they re-use similar melodies and musical accompaniment. It could feel repetitive, but it never does, thanks to the album’s incredible songwriting craft as we will see. This album’s i ..read more

Hi! What sparked the idea for “Et in Arcadia Ego,” and why did you choose to explore themes like occultism, mythology, and psychology in your debut album?
Hi my friend, I’m with this question. The idea of “Et In Arcadia Ego” was born in a conversation with a very beloved friend from Poland. Sometimes she talked to me about a park that exists in her country, with some constructions and buildings of the Greek and Roman times. There exists a statue with the phrase “Et In Arcadia Ego” and it seems beautiful to me, so I decided to seek information about that. I found the story of the picture “Arcad ..read more

Hi! What inspired the album title “Daenacteh” and how does it connect to the music’s themes?
Hi! The album title ‘Daenacteh’ is a word we made up with its own meaning regarding the themes. We would like to keep it secret until someone figures out the meaning.
Can you share the story behind the album’s artwork and how it relates to the music?
The album artwork is a true reflection of how the story progresses. Distant cities, lots of desert and the picture of a person rotting away is an image of the humanity of people disappearing when lives are threatened.
