Digital or film?

It's an old question. Here is an example of each - I don't think one image is better than the other and I am gradually warming to digital. Film is a bloody carry-on to procure, develop, and scan - but the cameras are nice. Leica 111c (1941), Ilford XP2, professionally scanned. Fujifilm x1ooT, edited in Macbook. Cheers, Dave ..read more

My son and his girlfriend are nearing the end of the North 500 tour and have been posting photos on FB of the fantastic scenery etc. Salmon jumping at the Falls of Shin, Dunrobin Castle, Gelnmorangie Distillery (hope they picked up some samples for me), a Stag on the hillside and Whale and Dolphin watching at Gairloch and much more with lakes (?Lochs) , beaches and hills. The weather did not allow them to have the roof down for much of the time. There are not many places in the world with... Beautiful Scotland ..read more

I'm sure you all know that Sir Elton John is my favourite musician and I have had the pleasure of going to see him in concert various times. Ever since 2004, I've loved him, odd I know as I was about 15. It was hearing "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" (not the George Michael duet) that did it for me. :taz: I've got three autographs as I've managed to get to the very front of the stage on several occasions. One of my best moments ever though has to be giving him flowers. I thought I... Your Concert & Gig Pictures (Own Pictures Only ..read more

Hi all - been trying out my new camera (Ricoh R7 - 8mp, 7x zoom) & so far I've been very impressed with it. It has a function where it'll continue taking photos as long as the shutter button's held down - my idea being that if I hold the shutter button down for long enough, & take enough photos, then at least one of them will turn out to be at least half decent (that's my theory anyway!) We have a newly established nature area on the college grounds - the intention being to attract... Bug Photos ..read more
