Hello!
I would love to know if anyone have samples (with/without filters) of these filters and their feedback. I can understand the pro/cons (shortstache has CPL so -1 fstop always), but I would love to see some samples to decide with one fits me the best!
Thank you so much ..read more

Hello people!
I'm preparing my first snow trip, never been in my life before!
So I would like to know if I should use or not a CPL filter?
I was searching for some samples with/without filter but I couldn't find any.
Best regards and happy new year ..read more

I know it is not what you would call photography.
But everybody on the radio calls it "photographing electrons" and "attosecond exposure time".
Today, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Nobel Prize in Physics 2023
“for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”.
An attosecond is 10 by -18 or 0,000 000 000 000 000 001 seconds or 1/100 000 000 000 000 000

I have my first mirrorless ILC, and am learning to adjust to its peculiarities. I've mostly been shooting at night, holiday festivals and Christmas decorations. I miss the OVF, of course, and am annoyed by the lights that flash in the viewfinder, and find the bright images of dark scenes mostly helpful but maybe sometimes distracting.
Out of the box, the default was to use the electronic shutter. I had some success with that, but figured that for taking shots involving Christmas lights that...

Goecker (Denmark/Copenhagen based pro photo retailer) had Richard Walch (German sports photograper and Canon Ambassador) in their video studio talking about the EOS R3:
First 27 minuters are about the EOS R3, then they switch to lenses and looking back at the 1D(x) series.
16:37-18:02: Regarding Eye-AF: use it when you want to pick between two [or more] moving objects, that move at medium speed. When it's clearly one object, moving very very fast, it's probably not...

Hi,
I am a 3D artist working in the game industry, and we often get to recreate or cleanup scans of likeness of actors and actresses. Most cases we collect reference photos from various angles to understand the structure and form of the head. For full frontal shot of the portrait, we try to decipher what focal length was used to take the picture. This helps us to set our camera in our 3D software properly, otherwise the 3D likeness of the portrait looks fine from front, but breaks apart...

During the pandemic, I have been doing a lot of bird photography, shooting manually with the Canon R5 with the RF 100-500. Since the lighting and shadows can vary dramatically where I shoot, the time it takes to adjust the ISO is enough time for my subject to disappear. I've tried using Auto ISO but I find the details in light/white area often get blown out. Is there a setting on the camera that I can adjust by a stop or two (AWB?) that allows Auto ISO to do its thing but still lets me...

Well, it is unidentified and probably a flying object anyway.
The Perseid meteor shower is supposed to peak late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. Since the sky was clear overhead and to the northeast tonight, I thought it a good time to run a test in case I had good weather later. So I set my camera on a tripod on my deck and pointed it mostly up and toward the northeast. The trees behind the house don't give me a whole lot of open sky. After a couple test shots that looked...
