There are cars that are so bad they’re good and then there’s the Aitekx RoboTruck, which is so bad you’re surprised it was even allowed to be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Thanks to a combination of shoddy workmanship and a terrible website, the Tesla Cybertruck knockoff quickly grabbed headlines and became one of the biggest stars of the show. However, it was for all the wrong reasons and we were left with more questions than answers. Our friends at The Autopian are helping to fill in some of the blanks as David Tracy and Jason Torchinsky checked out the truck, and talked to some of t ..read more

The Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off on Thursday, but something was a bit different this year. Instead of a bevy of new all-electric automobiles, the spotlight was predominantly on internal combustion cars, with or without hybrid assistance. Crossovers took center stage, which, while far less surprising, remained a prominent feature of the event. Interestingly, this year’s LA Auto Show wasn’t always going to be so SUV-focused. Back in late October, Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and RAM backed out of the show entirely. That took away any opportunity to see big new ..read more

The Toyota Crown, a nameplate steeped in Japanese automotive history since 1955, has evolved into a flourishing sub-brand, offering four distinct body styles in Japan. After a long hiatus, the Crown made its return to North America for the first time in decades with a sedan-cum-crossover in 2022. And now, Toyota is further expanding the lineup with the debut of the 2025 Crown Signia in Los Angeles. The mid-size SUV is the production version of the Crown Estate prototype that Toyota teased in 2022, and it’s expected to retain the same name in Japan. However, for the North American market, the ..read more

Around two months after Lucid unveiled its first vehicle, the Air sedan, it revealed a longer-range version called the Air Dream Edition. Now that it has finally shown off its second vehicle, an SUV called the Gravity, the clock is counting down to an equivalent, limited edition model that can drive farther, the company’s CEO hinted. Revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show yesterday, the Lucid Gravity is already expected to become one of the longest-range electric SUVs on the market. Although it’s targeting 440 miles (708 km) of driving between charges, the automaker said that the EV will have ..read more

Following its debut at the Japan Mobility Show, Honda has introduced the Prelude concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The surprise move comes 45 years after the first-generation Prelude entered production in November 1978 and roughly 22 years after production came to an end in 2001. Unfortunately, Honda is staying tight-lipped about the model as they didn’t say much about the “hybrid-electric” coupe other than it was designed to demonstrate their “commitment to offering exhilarating products moving into the electrified future.” The automaker went onto call the car a “prelude to future elect ..read more

The Los Angeles Auto Show continues as Kia has taken the wraps off the 2024 Sorento. Set to go on sale early next year, the facelifted crossover adopts a more adventurous Opposites United design that closely echoes the Korean variant. However, there’s one big change and that’s the amber daytime running lights which are a bit much. Putting them aside, the crossover sports an all-new front end that is more muscular and athletic. It combines an expressive grille with new vertical headlights and a “wider skid plate garnish for extra rugged appeal.” advertisement scroll to continue Kia didn’t ..read more

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Comes To America With Lifted XRT Trim And Two Turbo Engines

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has arrived at the Los Angeles Auto Show and it’s a radical departure as designers embraced the idea that ‘boxy is beautiful.’ Set to hit dealers in March, the crossover was seemingly designed exclusively with a ruler as soft curves and flowing surfaces have given way to straight lines and angular accents. The look isn’t much of a surprise at this point, but the model is notable for having H-shaped headlights, angular fenders, and a ‘floating’ roof. 2025 Subaru Forester Looks Like A RAV4 Disguised As An Explorer, Gets Hybrid Power

SUVs tend to look so alike these days that it’s rare for a new one to radically divide opinion. But Subaru’s 2025 Forester has definitely done that after a flurry of images made their viral voyage through the internet, and the beef seems to be that it looks too much like at least one other well known off-roader. The 2025 Forester unveiled today at the LA Auto Show isn’t all-new, but you could be forgiven for thinking it is because Subaru has treated it to a major update that’s resulted in an entirely new exterior skin as well as a new interior, plus the promise of hybrid power next year for ..read more
