Sunday night comes by, and as miserable as it is waking up for school, the cycle will continue for all students…at least until May.
Whether it be a blizzard or any other intense weather situation, schools are periodically forced to close and prepare for online school days if it is unsafe for students to attend. Nerves ran high on April 26 as six Wildcat Chronicle staffers’ completed at a state level in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.
Sebastian Alacron placed fourth in radio news, Dhanveer Gill placed fourth in editorial writing, and Sasha Baumgartner took sixth in news writing. All three are seniors, and students in the Journalism Production class at West Chicago Community High School.

Every four years, Americans pile into the polling places extremely eager to vote for the candidate they believe to be slightly less horrible. But with the electoral college system that elects America’s chief executive, many Americans think, “Does my vote even matter?”

The Wildcats are coming into the series opener after sweeping their last two opponents (Streamwood and Elgin).
In the first game against the Maroons, sophomore Ashton Aldaco threw a no-hitter in a five-inning mercy rule win (10-0).
The Fenton Bison are – so far – winless this season after finishing eighth in the Upstate Eight last year.
Junior Zach Williamson started on the bump for the Wildcats, Williamson has a 4.55 ERA which is second on the team.

Earlier this month, FCCLA underwent a three-day trip to Springfield to compete in the state championship, under the guidance of teachers Brittney Bauer and Emily Renteria.
During the three-day trip that took place between April 11-13, students separately attended competitions, which lasted about four hours. Senior Rudra Gor took home a gold award in salad production, and was recognized as the “most outstanding.”
