Lapstone Barn- Part II

This is the second blog post on the idyllic Lapstone Barn in the Cotswolds, where I was delighted to be the wedding photographer at a 'French Blush' themed bridal shoot. I am just in love with this beautiful 18th century venue, which has been perfectly re-developed, and in my opinion is the perfect combination of clean and modern with history and period features. From the traditional cream Cotswold stone walls, to the rustic beams inside this beautiful exclusive-use venue, it's the perfect backdrop for you to add florals and wedding styling that suits you perfectly. The venue, located outside ..read more

A sunny Craxton Wood wedding

This happy and relaxed Wirral wedding was one of my favourite to photograph this summer, for a few different reasons. Firstly- the people... Heather and Dileep were just the sweetest couple. Smiling, happy, totally in-love and had brought so many thoughtful details to the day. Secondly, I was shooting with Dan Thurgood (www.danielcharlesphotography.co.uk) which is always a pleasure as Dan and I have worked together many times and make a great team (plus I laugh at his dad jokes). And to top it all off, the light was ah-mazing as the scorching day rolled around to golden hour. The day started ..read more

A Merseyside Maritime Museum Wedding

It was such a pleasure to work with Beth and Luke as their wedding photographer, from the very first meeting through to their big day! They were such a lovely couple and had planned a gorgeous early springtime wedding at the Merseyside Maritime Museum on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. So many thoughtful details went in to the day... Beth's very clever mum had handmade buttonholes, headpieces and even a shawl for her daughter. The ceremony was emotional in the best way, serenaded by piano music and surrounded by the original brick interior and amazing views of the docks and the Liver Building fr ..read more

Personal Brand Photos for an Entrepreneur

I love working with business owners, creatives and public figures in the North West and beyond to create inspiring, on-brand images that they can use to reach their audience. More and more, these businesses and individuals are realising that they need more than just headshots- they need a bank of bespoke images that will tell the story of who they are and their brand, that will attract and connect with their ideal client. When Matt Edmundson approached me to work on developing his personal brand photographs, I was so happy to help. Matt is not only a multiple business owning online retailer, b ..read more

A Personal Brand Photoshoot for an Author

Personal Brand (or Personal Branding) is an area of photography that I have been developing for a couple of years now, and I absolutely love it! There is a growing demand for it, too, as more and more people need professional, on-brand, bespoke images for their websites and social media, and I have had the priviledge of doing shoots for a range of clients in Liverpool, Chester, North Wales and across the North West. Here's how it works when a client comes to me... after an initial chat or email, I send out a detailed questionnaire to my client to really try to draw out what the images need to ..read more

A Light and Airy Liverpool Wedding at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory

The Isla Gladstone Conservatory has been one of my favourite venues since it reopened in 2009, and the redeveloped Stanley Park around it is truly a perfect botanical backdrop for a wedding. Liverpool is so lucky to have two stunning glasshouse wedding venues, the other being the gorgeous Palm House, in Sefton Park in the South of the city. I was so happy to be invited to second shoot for Daniel Charles Photography at Beth and Scott's wedding. The Isla Gladstone, constructed in 1900, and built out of glass with cast and wrought iron in elegant lines, lets so much natural light flood in that it ..read more

A Hope Street Family Shoot

When this lovely family suggested a photo shoot around the Hope Street area of Liverpool, I jumped at the chance. I love doing natural family shoots, and what better setting than Hope Street? It has been voted the 'Best Street in the UK', and it's obvious why. With two cathedrals either end, beautiful georgian townhouses (many of which are now thriving independent restaurants and hotels), the Philharmonic concert hall, the Everyman theatre and several cute cobbled side-streets, we were literally falling over fantastic photo opportunities. We are so blessed in Liverpool to have such amazing arc ..read more

A Stunning Eastnor Castle Wedding

Samantha and Alex first got in touch with me way back in 2019 to photograph their wedding, but after covid threw a spanner in the works, they had to reorganise not only the date but the entire location from Anglesey to Ledbury. I have close family in North Wales (where I am from originally) but also in Herefordshire, and regularly shoot weddings in both places, so I was delighted when they told me their new venue- the stunning Eastnor Castle- a truly fairytale setting in this beautiful part of the country. Eastnor Castle is set within 5,000 acres of parkland, with woodland and lakes, and is ne ..read more

An Idyllic Ghyll Barn Wedding in the Eden Valley, Cumbria

OK, so now I know why the Eden Valley in Cumbria is called the Eden Valley- because it is like a little bit of heaven on earth! Situated a stone's throw from the Lake District, it's like the UK's best kept secret, and a wedding photographer's dream! I was delighted to be the photographer at Lydia and Dan's Eden Valley wedding in a brand new venue called Ghyll Barn, in Long Marton, near Appleby. The Barn was transformed by owners Chris and Charlotte to hold their own wedding in, so they really have put their heart and soul into it, and - wow- what a cool space they have created in absolutely st ..read more
