Are Brand photos even worth the investment? I bet most small businesses who think about having brand photos taken have thought this at one point or other. And I don’t blame them. Photography for your business is often a big investment. But one thing that you have to keep in mind is that Brand photography doesn’t just give you photographs. Foxes on Boxes are a small business that focuses on illustrated cards and wedding stationery. They came to me to update their product photography and move away from some of the backgrounds and textures they'd used in their previous images. As well as photographing their packaging and some illustrated designs we also photographed blank cards so that designs could be added onto images as and when they are created. We kept things quite simple using pinks and neutrals to coordinate with their branding, and used props that tied into their most popular designs eg. weddings and celebrations. Visit Fo ..read more

To make sure your photographs are working their hardest for you, it's important to have a strong understanding of your brand. When I work with a client I send an in-depth questionnaire that helps me understand their business, their ideal customer, and what their images need to show. I'm going to share some examples and explain why they can help create better photographs. Who is your ideal client? Having a strong sense of your ideal client means that you know what they like and what will appeal to them. Think about your ideal client as a whole - the type of person they are, things they like, pl ..read more

Melt Me Real Good are a scottish based home fragrance company. They feature home grown dried botanicals in their products that we wanted to make center stage within their product shoot images. We chose lots of natural elements, a light and bright but warm feeling with backgrounds colour matched to their branding. It was so fun creating the feeling of the products being surrounded by botanicals which gives them really unique, eye-catching, and recognizable imagery. Visit Melt Me Real Good ..read more
