The Verb Hotel wanted to take advantage of it’s unique location next to Fenway Park, while increasing it’s number of rooms and building on it’s reputation as a hip, music-oriented hotel. They envisioned trailers, outfitted as high-end luxury hotel rooms, modeled on band tour buses, to meet their goals.  When the client approached us with their initial designs, based on Airstream trailers, we worked closely together to plan every aspect of what it would mean to turn an Airstream into a hotel room. Issues quickly arose, from headspace to clearances and the materials used during fabrication ..read more

Just as retailers have reaped profits taking their brands to their audiences with experiential marketing, medical providers are also using mobile marketing to reach their clients and the public. Turtle Transit understands what is required for medical brands to take their services—including medical procedures—and products on the road. We have fabricated a number of tours that encompass all aspects of the mobile health industry. While blood donation vans have long been used, we are now seeing many other uses of mobile marketing and retail services for healthcare, both targeting business-to-busin ..read more

Refreshing and Enhancing Existing Experiential Marketing Projects

We’ve had several vehicles, developed as experiential marketing projects, return to the shop this month.  Many clients come in thinking that they must buy a new vehicle outright and will then be saddled with a product that quickly becomes dated as branded marketing concepts change. Not so! At Turtle Transit we have a stable of vehicles available for lease (as well as purchase, of course) which enable clients to develop a short-term marketing activation—and return the vehicle to our shop when the marketing opportunity is over. Recently, a teardrop trailer we developed and built about five ..read more

As concern grows about the impact of fossil fuels on our environment, solar is increasingly recognized as a sustainable energy option. At Turtle Transit, clients are asking how to integrate solar into the experiential marketing vehicles we fabricate. Companies care about their environmental impact—as do their audiences—as do we! The outdoor company, L.L. Bean, which has long focused on sustainability and minimizing their environmental impact, is increasingly using mobile retail trailers to take their products—and brand—to their audiences. The most recent vehicle we built for them, when in use ..read more

Last week I highlighted several of our clients who are maximizing their experiential brand marketing—specifically custom designed vehicles—through a comprehensive approach that includes social media. Turtle Transit has produced dozens of such experiential vehicles over our 22 years. Our first real mobile marketing (as it was then called) creation was produced for Monster.com. We morphed five Land Rover Discovery’s into the Monster.com mascot. Those vehicles pulled trailers that provided computers and a satellite hook-up for job hunters on the road—this was 20 years ago and Monster.com was high ..read more

Last week I wrote about the value of a comprehensive campaign when it comes to experiential marketing – and we noted that photo ops are an increasingly important aspect of audience engagement. There is significant value in creating Instagrammable moments! Photo ops come in all shapes and sizes – but the marketing goal for brands is to attract audiences’ attention, while also encouraging second-hand promotion through people’s own social media – a win-win for brands. At Turtle Transit, we’ve been creating products for audience engagement since our founding. Photo op marketing comes in all shapes ..read more

Fans at South by Southwest (SxSW) were amazed to see four nuns emerge from a cockroach extermination van. It was all part of a new marketing effort linked to the new Peacock series, Mrs. Davis, and even in a busy event like South by Southwest, it caught people’s attention! The eye-catching vehicle was created when Turtle Transit was tasked with building a promotional vehicle that resembles one from the show, Mrs. Davis, including an 8’ long cockroach on the van roof. The in-house team at Turtle worked with the client to design the graphic wrap and the roof art. The roach was built on a steel f ..read more
