I took a class once where the teacher talked about your “sparks” - the things that inspired you as an artist or photographer. For me, those things are gorgeous light, interesting architecture, beautiful plants and families in love. This session checked all those boxes! This mama to be was due in the early spring which meant shooting her maternity session outside was possible but definitely not ideal here in Central MA. We decided on New England Botanical Garden at Tower Hill for their stunning greenhouses and ended up scheduling her session during the orchid exhibit. Her pink dress was such a ..read more

Anna’s Lifestyle Newborn Session

You would be shocked to learn that probably a third of the newborn sessions I shoot don’t have a nursery. Sometimes families just moved or are about to move or the most relatable reason… it’s the second or third kiddo and they just haven’t gotten around to decorating. Whatever the reason is, it doesn’t matter. We can still make gorgeous newborn images without a nursery or crib! This family wanted to do their session when Anna was a little older (around 6 weeks) so she was awake for most of her session which made for such sweet pictures of her staring at mom and dad. Enjoy this sweet Cambridge ..read more

My cheeks hurt from smiling the entire time I edited this session. This family was just so full of love and fun when I met them at their home in Worcester for their lifestyle newborn session. Big sisters may have tried to steal the show but Itai took it in stride and was so chill his entire session. Scroll through his sweet newborn session below ..read more

I know I shouldn’t have favorites but this location, with this sunset and this gorgeous couple? Add in the bestest boy pup and I’m done for! In all seriousness, this couple was the best. So fun and down to laugh at everything! For their maternity session, they wanted something that said “Boston” so we settled on the seaport with a backdrop of the Boston skyline. I love this location for a lot of reasons but mostly there are so many “scenes” within steps of each other. Enjoy this stunning mama’s maternity session and stay tuned for their newborn session ..read more

A couple years ago, I had this vision in my head for a newborn session in a nursery.. well a plant nursery. You see, I have this obsession with greenhouses. The photographer in me loves the diffused light, leading lines and textured greenery. But there’s also something kind of poetic about documenting a newborn in a place meant to nurture and grow. Or maybe it’s not poetic and I just really love plants and babies. Either way, I had so much fun leaning into my creative side and shooting just for me. This mama and baby were such a dream to work with! If you like this greenhouse newborn session t ..read more

Big sisters may have tried to steal the show but Itai took it in stride and was so chill his entire session. Full disclosure, I’m so behind on blogging session that this little guy has already celebrated his first birthday AND seen me for another session. Maybe I’ll get that one posted before he turns two but in the meantime, please take a scroll through his sweet newborn session ..read more

I’m usually the one making the trek back to Texas to see family but for the past few years, my brother and his family have come up to visit in October. I obviously love getting to spend time with my brother but mostly, I love watching our girls making memories together. Last year, between picking apples, carving pumpkins, and trying out new breweries, I shot their family pictures.. aka I used them to try out a new location in Central MA. That’s what family is for right? The good news is the locations is a winner and easily one of my favorite places to shoot now but I also love these images I c ..read more

Winter Maternity Session Locations in New England

My oldest is a February baby and I remember being pregnant with her and thinking “ugh what am I going to do for a winter maternity session in New England?”. I love greenery and always pictured a baby bump in a field of gorgeous wildflowers which obviously wasn’t going to happen in Boston in the middle of winter. I wish I had realized all the options at the time and that having a winter baby doesn’t mean you have to skip a maternity session or risk frostbite in the middle of snowy field (unless that’s your jam!). If you’re an expecting mama in the Boston or Central MA area, take a peek below at ..read more

This family chose such special location for their family session - the land where their home was being built. At first I was a little reticent because choosing a good location is trickier than it sounds but once I went to see their land I was sold. We had gorgeous fields of wildflowers, the backdrop of their almost finished home and the bonus of a bulldozer (every two year olds’ dream). If there are two things I could photograph all day it would be sleeping babies and toddlers exploring nature. This little guy had so much fun picking flowers, finding rocks and occasionally letting this parents ..read more
