Record month for the MG HS in Poland. The Polish new car market is euphoric in June at +21% year-on-year to 48,749 sales. This way, the H1 2024 tally is now up 16.3% to 270,864. Toyota (+24.4%) manages to beat the market but at 15.5% is way below its H1 level of 18.9% share. Skoda (+2.5%) is a lot more shy at 9.7% vs. 11.2% while Volkswagen (+11.4%) also trails behind and Hyundai (+20.8%) matches the market. The Toyota Corolla remains the most popular vehicle in Poland. After slowing down in March (+1.2%), the Polish new car market returns to vigorous growth in April at +25% year-on-year to 43,224 sales. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 15.7% to 179,488. Toyota (+39.6%) vastly outraces the market to 18.5% share with over 8,000 sales with Skoda (+24.3%) also in great shape at #2 with 12.3% of sales vs. 11.2% so far this year. The Volvo XC40 is up to #12 in March. After gaining 22.5% in January and 19.5% in February, new car sales in Poland drastically reduce their growth to +1.2% and 48,961 units in March. To be fair, March 2023 was up 25.4% on the year prior. The year-to-date volume is now up 13% to 136,264. Toyota (+23.2%) manages its second best ever share at 23.1%, only surpassed by the 24.3% reached last August. Cupra is among the 15 best-selling brands in Poland for the first time. Polish new car sales edge up 2.8% year-on-year in April to 34,575 units.
