As September is fast approaching I can't help but feel like this year hopped on a train hurtling towards the festivities of Winter, before I have had the time to shake my umbrella from the torrential downpours of April. It was last week when I saw the first blackberries and noticed that the conkers are easily visable on the Oak trees at the bottom of the garden. I must of been hibernating, like an old bear, grumbling my way through the sticky nights of Summer i seem to have missed.&amp ..read more

It is finally February Eve and I am thankful that January has it's coat on about to leave.   Tonight is a magickal night ~ Brigid's Eve, Imbolc Eve a glorious Celtic fire festival is here, as well as the Chinese Lunar New Year ~ the year of the Water Tiger and the New Moon.  I mean, I think we all get the hint that NOW is the time for New beginnings and get rid of the old and stale! Promise and Positivity is in abundance. Even the cold winds of Jan ..read more

April 30th ~ Walpurgisnacht or Hexennacht ~ Witches Night The air is full of the promise of Spring, however, you can feel that Winter wants to hang on just that little bit longer, with its overcast skies and clouds full of ice cold tears. Quite appropriate then really for Walpurgisnacht, or the alternate name, Hexennacht (Witches night).  The transition between Winter and Summer, a liminal point, a time between times where veils between worlds thin, and supernatural forces come out ..read more

Light the November fires and grab a brew, come sit with me for spell I have a tale to tell you about The Hallowed year of 2020. January swept in with cold winds and our long-awaited larger premises, in hindsight when you affectionately refer to something as a shithole you should quit while you are ahead.  Before the smoke settles from a blown-out match, we had erected walls, decorated, and made the place our Covenstead. However, Ice had unknowingly settled somewhere in my soul. Febr ..read more

The air outside is bitterly cold and the windchimes outside of the Hallowed Emporium are dancing to the rhythm of the season. As I sit here my mind wanders through the memories of the year gone by, and the changes that each turn of the wheel has bestowed. The shops are awash with Halloween decorations and pumpkins, and we have spent the season crafting and preparing for the long cold winter nights to come.  Samhain is upon us… Samhain ~ pronounced Sow-in, thought to transl ..read more

As we are well into September and like the golden arches, I am lovin' it.  September being the month full of harvesting, the leaves are being to turn, and the nights are turning chilly. The autumn equinox brings with it the shifting winds of change.  September always motivates me to bake bread, make jam and channel Fanny Craddock to prepare for the Winter. I am not a kitchen witch, in fact, it’s the least likely place you will find me. Want to hide my Yule ..read more

As i sit at my desk at The Hallowed Emporium contemplating whilst staring wistfully out of the window and listening to the windchimes dancing merrily away, i realise in calm of my mind its September! The beginning of the month always passes in a blur and yesterday was my birthday. I am now the rather adult age of 40. I have regarded the looming 40th with trepidation, but this morning something similar to adventure seeped into my bones. So as i shut my vividly purple door on route ..read more

Well, It has been all go since we opened in June! As some of you may already know me from the Hallowed Grimoire in Brentwood, I will catch you all up!  I had been busy whizzling from east to west since we closed the sanctuary, helping Flynn, from Feathers, Foraging and Flynn set up in her new grove down in the beautiful Exmoor hills. As the wheel of the year has turned full circle once more, I found myself itching to get back to what lights my own fire and a random conversation over ..read more
