Douglas John Baumgartner, 81, died peacefully on April 28, 2024, in his home, in Jackson. Doug was born on June 16, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was the oldest of four children born to Irene and Neal Baumgartner. Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in Fishery Biology from Iowa State University. Jason Sullivan received his diploma from McIntosh High School at the age of 41 on Monday under a program designed to help former students who either didn’t pass their graduation exam or build up enough credits to graduate. Authorities found the body of a missing Conecuh County man Sunday morning near the Alabama River bridge at Claiborne, according to the Monroe County Sheriff ’s Office. The body of John Derek Faulkner, who had been reported missing, was found around 9:30 a.m. following a seven-day search, according to the MCSO.
