Cellist Camden Shaw will perform in our 36th season on August 2nd and 4th. Shaw has been the cellist with the twice GRAMMY-nominated Dover Quartet since it was formed in 2008.
Back by popular demand, the Dover Quartet will return to Kingston on August 2nd for the world-premiere of Jerod Impichcha̱achaaha’ Tate’s Woodland Songs and classical orchestration of Pura Fé’s Rattle Songs. Our world premiere of Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate’s commissioned work for the Dover Quartet was chosen as the premiere of the month by The Strad magazine!
Tate’s Woodland Songs celebrates animals that represent different clans of the Eastern Woodlands People through the use of traditional Chickasaw melodies mixed with classical techniques. “In the piece I’m influenced by the songs of my Chickasaw tribe, but I’m also mirroring those songs back out to my ancestors through my modern Chickasaw lens,” he notes in the article.

Lee joined the Dover Quartet as violist in September of 2023, bringing experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player—as both a violinist and violist. Her first appearance at KCMF offers the opportunity to hear her perform with the Dover Quartet as well as with other musicians, including Artistic Director Natalie Zhu and cellist Clancy Newman.
