Hello, I’m Reubyn Ash, here at Down The Line to pick up my new quiver from JS. Just gonna give you a little breakdown of what I’ve chosen and why. Firstly, I’ve got a Monsta2020. Well, technically, it’s my second, and is identical to the one I’ve been using a shedload! It’s 5’11 x 8 ½ x 2 ¼, and 26 litres. I’m using this as my go-to shortboard, so any waves from 2-6ft, so waist high all the way up to head-and-half size waves. I’ve been using the FCSII Performer fin setup for slightly bigger waves, and then I’ve been using the MR Twin + 1 setup for when the waves are smaller. For the seco ..read more

Down The Line Surf Blog
by David

We sat down to talk with Reubyn Ash about the boards that he’s been riding through the spring and summer, as well as the new models he’s picked up next. Our JS Team Rider is one of the most technically minded surfers we’ve worked with and has some invaluable insights to share about his board and fin choices, and the things he looks for in his new boards! We’ll pass it over to Reubs now… Right, so my current go-to board. I’m riding the Raging Bull HyFi 5’8 x 18 ¾ x 2 3/8 x 26.4L. That’s my everyday board when the waves are small, up to just overhead, probably around 5ft maximum. I prefer the bo ..read more

Jayce here, in the Down The Line Boardroom. Just gonna talk you guys through my fresh drop from DHD. Pack of five. Right here we go. Firstly, we’ve got my standard shortboard, which is my all-rounder. It’s the 3DV, 5’7 x 18 5/8’s x 2 3/16’s, and 24.5L.  It’s PU, which I really like for the winter as it just basically holds better. It feels like you’ve got a bit more ‘girth’ under your feet almost.  When you’re doing some nice racking turns, it holds and if you got any chatter in the face (which is quite often in the winter), it just rides ..read more
