Whatever your motivation we are stoked you are considering an out-of-season experience with us. The summer may have ebbed away, the ice cream van has packed up for the season, and a chill is now in the air, but that doesn’t mean you have to get out of the water for nine months. Red, Amber and Green? Where to head for the Autumn Surf Scene!

We’ve been chatting to people down on the beach here in Bude and it seems that the chopping and changing of guidelines around travel are as confusing as the one-way system here in town, so we took some time out from our surf lessons to get the lowdown on the best places to head for some Autumn surfing abroad this year. We won’t lie – if you really need some sun on your face and to ride some waves then you are going to have to jump through a few hoops to do so. It is a whole lot easier to navigate if you have both vaccinations. To avoid quarantine or multiple tests once you are back in the U ..read more

Now, you absolutely know I’m a signed-up member and card-carrier of the Water is Good for You Club. I mean, I run a business centred around it. But it isn’t just me. The scientists, boffins and psychologists of this world are increasingly aware of the power of water – or blue health, as it’s called. Even with the restrictions the last year has brought, we have been actively encouraged to take daily exercise and use green spaces. With secluded coves, long sandy stretches, rich rock pools and stunning cliffs it’s not hard to see why the beaches here in Bude are one of the town’s main attractions. Although the water and the beaches may look like a perfect advert for a walk around a quiet headland or a dip in the turquoise sea, it is important to remember that there may be dangers involved and to seek advice first of all.  In Bude, we are very lucky to have most of the beaches lifeguarded at the popular times of the year. Each beach has a different lifeguarded season based on average visitor numbers. This means the ..read more

Each year we pledge a minimum of £250 to a chosen charity. This helps to financially support their efforts and to shine some light on the amazing work that people are doing for their causes. For years we supported the great work that Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) do through their 250 Club membership. Wanting to do more, we decided to chose a new charity each year so that more people could benefit from the money, time and opportunities that we can offer as a business. The starting figure of £250 is pledged as a minimum amount given. This figure is then boosted by running dedicated activities, e ..read more
