I'm addicted to Japan's? Tokyo's? Cheesecake but I'm also tired of spending like 600¥ for a single tiny portion. Is there any store where I could get one entire thing? For context it's not the spongy one but the one which is basically all cheese and cream sold in cafes.
Thanks in advance.

My girlfriend (28F) is experiencing pain in her Achilles tendon, and we are seeking recommendations for a reliable orthopedic clinic in Tokyo. Ideally, we would prefer a location close to Nakano, but we welcome suggestions for any reputable clinics. Thank you for your help.

Hi all, my wife and I are coming to the end of our trip around Japan and have had a great time. We are from the UK but have tried to be as respectful as possible with the various social conventions in Japan and did a lot of research prior to coming and made an effort to learn some basic Japanese phrases.
We visited the Meiji Shrine in Shinjuku the other day and had a bit of an issue with a local so I wanted to clarify the purifacation process before entering the shrine. There are signs around the fountain (I think it's called a Temizuya?) Saying first to wash your hands with the water then to ..read more

My Japanese friend loves Sci-Fi and has never heard of Arthur C. Clarke and I really want to buy him a Japanese version of the collection of his short stories, "The Sentinel", as a gift. Where would I begin to try and find such a version? I know Amazon is an option but I'd prefer to go to a physical store if possible. Thanks in advance :)

Today my wife and I moved hotels, out of the Disney bubble and into Shinjuku. While waiting for our room to be ready we wandered the streets for something to eat. She's a picky eater (no fish or seafood), so I was letting her pick the place. We found an A-frame sign of food that interested her, but was a bit confused as to where it actually was, believing the place was in the basement but the name/Kanji didn't seem to match up. An older man walked up and checked out the sign as well. I motioned to question if it was down the stairs and he confirmed, then he went down and looked to us to make ..read more

Just curious for someone living at Gakudai for more than fifteen years, I am seeing a sudden increase in foreign population esp youngish females for past 6 months or so around this area. I am not well connected irl (or online for that matter), so I am clueless as to why the sudden upsurge. Is there a particular reason for popularity rise among foreigners for this location in past few months more so than before?
