The Blackhawks came out harder and faster than they did in their last two games. And they were battling. And yet, there was a lot of time during the first period when it kinda felt like the Wild were okay with it because the Blackhawks were still struggling to find quality shots. They had a couple looks, but those turned into either one pass too many situations or a blocked shot. Thankfully, the Blackhawks were able to get the first goal of the game and took a one-goal lead to the room after 20 minutes.
If you like low event hockey, the second period would have been your personal nirvana. Offi ..read more

Matt Shaw is playing OUT OF HIS MIND to open up the Premier12 tournament for Team USA.
After going 3-3 with a HBP in the first game, Shaw topped that tonight. The Cubs’ top prospect went 4-5 with two singles, a double, AND HE WALKED THE GAME OFF RUN-RULE STYLE:

Desperate times call for desperate measures. And I don’t think there is a team more desperate than the Chicago Bears.
CHICAGO BEARS LOSE AGAIN: Week 10 Recap | Instant Player Grades
What drastic measures the Bears will take are yet to be determined. However, Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus seems open to switching out the offensive playcaller. At a minimum, he didn’t dismiss it out of hand while discussing things in his post-game press conference at Soldier Field after the latest loss by Chicago’s football team.
This is what Coach Flus had to say in an exchange with reporters:

Another week, another lifeless effort from the Chicago Bears offense.
If this is how they looked in a must-win game, what will it look like down the stretch when the team is playing out the string?
Most teams use the bye week to get better. Then again, the Bears aren’t like most teams. I don’t know what I was expecting. But I was surely expecting something better than what this team has shown in the last three weeks.

I don’t know what I just watched, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t football. Hello Rock Bottom, the Bears have arrived!
If there isn’t significant change at Halas Hall this week then I’m not really sure what they could possibly be thinking.
Offense
QB Caleb Williams | F
I was debating whether to make this an F or Incomplete. I opted for the F. I like Caleb Williams a lot, I think he’s the quarterback of the future. He’s being failed by his coaching staff and this organization. His offensive line STINKS. Having said all that, he still has to be better. His OC can’t scheme anyone open, but he still ..read more

The Chicago Bulls knew how the Atlanta Hawks felt in last night’s fourth quarter.
On Thursday night, the Bulls were the team in control for three straight frames despite being on the backend of a back-to-back. Tired legs for Chicago and streaky shotmaking for Minnesota arrived in the fourth quarter, however, resulting in a full-fledged Bulls collapse.
A nearly identical story played out in reverse on Saturday night. The Hawks were suiting up less than 24 hours after an emotional 122-121 loss to the Detroit Pistons. While they looked hungry for revenge in the first half, they couldn’t outhustle ..read more

The Blackhawks had a good road trip. Then they played a couple mediocre games in which they hung around but really never truly threatened. And now we’re back at square one after 15 games. The Chicago Blackhawks are better than last year at most things, but they still aren’t great in many categories.
Enter one of the surprising successes in the early NHL season, the Minnesota Wild and Calder Trophy runner-up Bock Faber. They have the second-best record in the Western Conference and come to Chicago having rolled to an 8-2-0 record over their previous 10 games. A reminder: this game starts at 6 ..read more

I don’t know how many highlight clips the Chicago Bears will provide us on this NFL Sunday. But if you’re looking for a feel-good story, then allow me to direct you to what Ricky Pearsall just did for the San Francisco 49ers.
Pearsall, a 49ers first-round pick from last April’s NFL Draft, just scored his first career touchdown:
