So, i have had my 500e since last November, and so far I am super happy with it. Great city car, nice drive, tons of features, all great. My 2017 Fiat 500e is displaying the Service PRND message, and the shifter won't move. Initially, I could resolve it by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, but lately, that hasn't worked. After getting stuck in a garage a few times and needing to be towed, I decided to park it. Recently, I took it to a dealer in the Los Angeles area, who said it needs a new shifter, engine module, and electric motor, totaling $9K. My 500e already got a new internal charge unit but somehow im not able to load the car with our ease charger. Our Volvo xc40 works without any issues. As soon as i plug in the charger the outside dashboard charger indicator leds start blinking. With the "home socket" charger there are no issues Any tips ? I just got rid of my old used car and am in the market for a new one. I live in SoCal and I want a small car for around-town trips on the freeway and distances that I can't get to easily on transit or my bike. I see a lot of nice-looking used Fiat 500e's on FB Marketplace and am just wondering: how much does the year matter for battery range? is 2013 noticeably worse range than 2016?
