Good evening all, I was just wondering what kind of battery life other people are getting from an off-the shelf CR 2032 battery in their Core all-black? I feel as though mine is running through batteries lately and although I think it's nothing more than some old batteries I had laying around, I was wondering how frequently others with the same watch needed to replace their batteries ..read more

Like I explained on this other thread, Ii needed a new ABC watch. And I decided for a Core All-Black b-). I was a bit concerned about the negative display, but I liked it. However, let me be completely honest: it TOTALLY SUCKS in anything else but outside in bright day light. It's simply invisible in low... Core: All-Black ..read more

In the summer of 2008 I started the Suunto Core cult, that thread eventually turned out to be one of the largest threads at WUS but eventually grew so large (80000+ views and 231 replies) that it was closed recently. This thread is about sharing your love for the Core by announcing that you are part of the Core gang. Core battery hatch tool

I recently had to change the battery in my Suunto Core and while I managed ok, I wanted to find a tool that fit better for next time. This is what I found at my Ace Hardware store. A copper washer, 1 1/4 inch diameter and 3/16 inch thick. The center hole measures 9/16 inch. The washer fits the slot on the battery hatch as if it was made for the job, and is wide enough to give decent leverage. Being made of copper, it’s softer than the stainless steel hatch, so is unlikely to scratch the... Core battery hatch tool ..read more

27 months on original battery!

I was attempting to reset my Core this morning, along with many of my other watches, and noticed a “low battery” symbol on the display. I removed the back cover, popped in a new 2032, greased the o-ring, and closed it. Resetting was simple and everything seems to work properly. I purchased this watch back in December of 2021, so that original battery lasted 27 months. I turn off everything on the display except hours, minutes and AM/PM.This has turned out to be one of my favorite... 27 months on original battery ..read more

Hi forum members!! Just wanted to share my thoughts of the new Suunto 9 Peak Pro. I haven't had it in my hands or even seen it in real life to make things clear. As far as I have seen, at least in pictures and videos, I like it's design and I'm sure in real life it looks even better. But there is a thing that I think is a big miss regarding it's competitors... and that's solar charging... Why they haven't used that big black area on the display to place some solar cells... Another thing I... New Suunto 9 Peak Pro ..read more

Suunto Vector stuck battery cover

I have a Suunto Vector with a (presumably) flat battery. The trouble is the battery cover appears to have seized. It just won't shift. You can see by the picture the damage to the plastic cover through my various attempts to open it (this doesn't bother me - I can buy a replacement). Any suggestions? Is this something a jeweller/watch shop might be able to fix ..read more

Is Suunto dying?

I know Suunto's philosophy is totally different from it's competitors, but I'm starting to get worried... Last Suunto product seems to me like a fail (talking about Suunto 7). And Suunto 9 has been around for a while, with little updates. I own a Suunto 9 Baro since 2,5 years, and it works great, but I see others brands keep launching new products that are starting to appeal to me, as for example Garmin models with solar panels inegrated to the watch. Hope they launched a new Suunto 9 Baro... Is Suunto dying ..read more
