Zero Point Calibration

EDIT: Here are the steps for performing Zero Point Calibration taken from the 5th Gen 4Runner Repair Manual. The steps for FJ Cruisers will probably be very similar IF your 4Runner is equipped with either DAC or Crawl Control, you must complete steps 4 and/or 5 or you will get a DTC and the slip indicator will always be lit. I highly recommend this calibration if you think the VSC on your 4Runner kicks in too much, before or after lift. Mine was overreacting both... Zero Point Calibration ..read more

2010 FJ OD shudder

Folks, Just picked up a 2010 after trading in a 2007 and 2008 years ago. I simply missed the FJ and looked for months until I found what I wanted. Test drove TWICE at mainly low speeds with one run done at the 40-70mph range. Now (of course) after it's in the yard, I have noticed the dreaded OD shudder in the 30-45mph range while still in OD. I can downshift to 4th or hit the gas a downshift to 4th and it goes away. I do not think it is there at speeds above 55-60. Did a complete fluid flush... 2010 FJ OD shudder ..read more

I have 3-4 toyo's that have been running for years perfectly well here on the ranch. Here is the problem that I am having with my 2007 FJ. I was driving home from a day of off roading with my Polaris Ranger UTV. I had the Polaris on a trailer behind the FJ on a washed out gravel road. I hit a deep hole with the FJ right rear tire, and as soon as I hit the hole ALL the warning lights on the FJ dash came on including the check engine light, and the FJ started missing like one or two injectors... Recent purchase of a 2012 Cruiser. On the top of the dash, near where the inspection sticker is, is a small box with red led lights that scroll from left to right and are visible when standing outside the vehicle. Sometimes it stays on when I remove the key and sometimes not! This little box is taped to the dash. Definately was added by a previous owner. Anybody have a guess what this is? Thank You ..read more

Didn’t expect this one! No Braking Power! - YouTube This FJ is in Florida, so I guess the owner used to drive it on the beach every day. Maybe even got it stuck in the sand when the tide rolled in. The body looks great, but it has the worst frame rot I've seen ..read more

Our FJ Cruiser Stealth Camper (really just part-time stealth) is a work in progress. So far, we have finished the build design, replaced the OEM roof rack with a Sherpa Fuji, ran solar and lighting cables from the roof to the interior using a Scanstrut cable gland, wired and positioned pod lights on the Sherpa, built and tested a full-scale furniture mockup, and ordered a RTT from 4x4 Colorado which we have yet to receive (long story…). When done, the camper will carry 15.2 gallons of fresh... FJ Cruiser Stealth Camper ..read more
