At just over 20000 miles on my 2019 Sportage 4 Tgdi awd and the front tyres needed changing (two years ago). I had intended getting them done before Chrimbo anyway...... Anyway, I called in at my local tyre dealer in Barnsley (Malcolm's, on Cemetery Road) that I have been using for over 35 years for a (rear) puncture repair last week, and they had a deal on RoadX tyres (and fit them to their own vehicles, as do most of their staff on their's), so I got a couple of RxMotion 245/45zr19 s ones on the front wheels in place of the oem tyres that were just on the limits. £86 + Vear and Tear includin ..read more

Main Kia Sportage chat • DCT clutch issues

I originally bought my 2019 Sportage 4 awd tgdi in September 2020 with 9010 miles on, loved it at first (test) drive and still do. Got to the bad weather in early 2021 and one very cold morning in 2021 set off up my slightly uphill drive & the auto dct clutch(es?) grabbed quite badly on initial movement, then seemed ok. This happened for a few days in very cold weather, but went back to normal after that. Anyway, let Burrows Kia in Barnsley know and they told me that if it got worse, they would sort it and it was warranted. This only seems to happen on the first start and only when the wea ..read more

Main Kia Sportage chat • Sporty handbrake switch

Now, I always use the 'auto brake keeper onner' in normal driving, but use the brake switch quite a lot so the brake lights go off when stood in traffic & other vehicles behind. I wish everyone did this out of politeness, but heyho.... Anyway, last year I noticed that 'sometimes' the parking brake didn't work when I used the switch despite using a selection of swear words during operation. The main issue here is that my drive is uphill facing the road, and I always reverse in, so if the handbrake switch doesn't do what it should, then the gearbox 'lock when in park' is the handbrake - auto ..read more

Hello everyone, new starter here. I currently have a 2019 Sportage 4 TGDi AWD DCT (helluva name ain't it?!) which I've had since September 2020. Bought with a gnat's under 9k miles, it now has 43k and runs well after a (warranty!) new DCT clutch pack recently fitted. I also have LPG on the vehicle - as I had on my 4 previous Hyundai Santa Fés. Not my only transport, I also have several motor cycles - 3 and a bit (1 under resto) Suzuki GT550s and a -1 year old Moto Guzzi V85TT. I hope to be able to contribute with tech stuff (I'm a retired Elec/mech/computer Engineer & worked world wide unt ..read more

Faults & Technical • Leak into passenger footwell following rain
Sportage Forums

Hi there I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and identified where the leak could be coming from.I'm getting rainwater coming into the passenger footwell. It appears to be coming from the air intake vent that leads into the fan area and then dripping down the back of the passenger footwell, soaking the carpet. It's worse after a downpour. I feel it is from here as the fan part is always flooded with water and the air vent has drips within it. Car: Kia Sportage 4WD 2008 What I've tried: Replacing the windscreen / Removed the windscreen scuttle to check for leaves / Hosing the screen ..read more

I bought a Kia Sportage a year and a half ago (my 3rd one). The engine on a journey home started making noises and I had to drive the car to the nearest garage to get looked at immediately. At this point I phone Kia myself with regards to the 7 year warranty and I was then informed that the engine had seized up due to lack of oil which I found very hard to believe as I checked it regularly. I was told that the car needed a new engine and so I agreed to get the work done. When the car was "fixed" and returned to me the same problem occurred. It was returned again to the garage but this time I w ..read more

Hi there, I have purchased a 22plate kia sportage hybrid but cannot seem to see any regenerative braking options. I had a niro hybrid and in eco mode the regenerative braking could be adjusted. Statistics: Posted by Jd74 — Thu Feb 29, 2024 5:11 am — Replies 0 — Views 23 ..read more

I am really annoyed that I have to wait 7 weeks for my Kia dealer in Aberdeen to look at my Kia Sportage, which is not drivable due to some warranty issue. What can I do. Its my only car and now forced to fork out a fortune for a rental car. They dont have a courtesy car for me for another 12 weeks.
