Slowdive is on our minds and in our ears for very good reasons. If this is you, then you will want to listen to Slow Salvation‘s debut LP Here We Lie. Not only is the influence unabashedly strong, but Simon Scott of Slowdive mastered the album. Here We Lie was recently released (August 25) through Jeff Cloud’s Velvet Blue Music.
“He was really fond of their sounds,” Jeff Cloud shared with Puddlegum concerning Scott’s mastering. His touch on the album brings a lot of depth, both in equalization and in depth you find from analog gear such as the LA2A. The brights are not overly shimmery, and the ..read more

I’ve been out for a while, dealing with personal things. During that time, there was so much music I wanted to write about. Many artists, some of whom are friends, sent me amazing singles and albums. I must say that I owe it to you to write about these submissions, even if they might not be new.
A few albums I have been enjoying:

Hannah Jadagu – Aperture LP
The Japanese House – In The End It Always Does LP
Superviolet – Infinite Spring LP
There are so many others I have been enjoying!
I am also working on new music with artists, and am excited to share as they are ..read more

Chillwave artist Divorce Court have released two singles from their forthcoming album Two Hours. The first single 140, has rich layers of synths that is soothing to the ears. The song builds to a climax that carries to the end. The album Two Hours will be out July 7.
140 by Divorce Court
The second single is Spill and features mau (released on April 28). In this track Lynden Wiliam’s vocals are more washed out with reverb, and it feels more like his previous EP. That is until mau comes in with an upfront rap, backed by a strong drum groove. They also released a music video created by Post Wave ..read more

Superviolet is a new project by Steve Ciolek (The Sidekicks, Saintseneca) from Columbus, Ohio. He began writing new material after The Sidekicks were sidelined in 2020. Zac Little of Saintseneca agreed to produce the album in the form of contributing to the writing process and recording. The result is the infectious Infinite Spring LP, released on Friday by Philly’s Lame-O Records.

The Japanese House are releasing their second full-length, called In the End It Always Does on June 30. And this week they released their second single, Sad to Breathe, a track that opens with layers of piano and a synth on the far right. The song kicks in with a pop beat, punching yet smooth bass notes, guitar, and plenty of ear candy floating around.
Boyhood has a perfect indie pop tone of staccato synth notes forming the foundation. The vocal melody sticks in your head, and the fast acoustic picking hard panned to the outer edges fill the song out in a nice way. This album is very promising ..read more

Montreal-based Bodywash released their fourth single, Perfect Blue, bringing a lot of shoegaze energy. It shows the expanse of dream pop to shoegaze fuzz of the songs we’ve heard so far. Their forthcoming album I Held the Shape While I Could will be out this Friday, April 14.
The full-length is self-described as, “a record that lives in the sonics of decay and renewal: breaks that burst forth from a squall of fuzz guitars, drones that glitch and stutter like ice willing itself to thaw.”
If you’re confused about Perfect Blue being their fourth single since there are three songs on Spotify and A ..read more
