I was looking for some other car-related pics that I don't remember where I put them and I came across this impromptu meetup in Louisville, KY back in ... I think November, 2009.  I posted that I was going to be in the area and I was extremely thrilled and appreciative that anyone wanted to meetup.  Let alone 4 MR2 Spyders!  You can see Galo's red one there and a much younger Galo in the background.  ;) It was a great time meeting everyone and I still talk about that trip to this day.  It was some BS work thing, but what I remember the most was this evening. ... OK, en ..read more

These will be available on both Etsy and my Takuban Motorsports website sometime this weekend.  I need to take some more pictures and put the listing together.  But I wanted to give everyone here a sneak peek.  These are standard size wall plates in the USA.  I'm not sure if there are different specs for other countries or not.  So I can't guarantee that these will fit in other places outside of the USA. Anyway, here's a quick teaser pic: 2441 The product will include the wall plate and 2 black screws.  This will work great with a black switch (not provided) that ..read more

For anyone interested, the '24 Indiana Meet will be Saturday, June 1. I'm not sure if it'll be South Central(starting in Spencer), South East(starting in Madison) or Southern IN(starting in New Albany). I've not driven South East in a long time, so I'll definitely get down there and check out the roads. If anyone is interested, I can plan a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday, May 31. The Hall of Fame Museum is closed for renovations, but bus rides around the track are still happening. The cost; adults, 16+=$15, seniors, 62+=$14, Veterans and active duty military(with proof of s ..read more

Pioneer AVH-4400NEX Corrupt Firmware Fixed!

Right after getting my car up and running so that I could begin the tuning process and shake down other misc gremlins, my head unit went into an infinite boot loop until it ultimately shut off.  I have a 2-DIN Pioneer AVH-4400NEX unit that is really awesome when it works.  It has wireless android auto and great sound, lots of expansion capabilities, connectivity, etc.  It's also kinda pricey to replace.  So I researched if there was a way to bring it back from the dead. It turns out that this is a common problem with those units.  Pioneer apparently uses low grade SD c ..read more

Adding a Second Knock Sensor to 2zz for Standalone ECU Tuning

Cross-posted from Spyderchat...   I'm finishing up a forged 2zz build that I am going to run N/A and then turbo later using a Link ECU wired as a "standalone", but retaining the OEM ecu for gauges, A/C, etc (not quite piggyback, not quite standalone). While I have the intake manifold off and easy access to the back of the motor where the OEM knock sensor is located, I'm wondering where/how I should add a wideband Knock sensor (the Bosch donut-style sensors seem to be popular), while keeping the OEM single-wire knock sensor in place to keep the OEM ECU happy. I see this 11mm non-threaded ..read more
