I (41M) am looking for people who would be up for playing some music together. I play bass and I'm a fan of most styles of music. Don't care if you're amazing at playing, I'd rather play with decent people. If you're a musician looking for a band please feel free to post below what you play, what you're into etc. I don't have Facebook etc either so I thought trying here was worth a shot. submitted by /u/SmokingOotTheWindy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have lived here for over 5 years, worked and studied and i noticed that past year, there is way more international people than ever before, that goes for in university and also workplace. I was wondering what caused this shift and if anyone else noticed? Is dundee being advertised as the ‘next big thing’ abroad? submitted by /u/Weary-Lingonberry-26 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I don't know if that's the appropriate title for this! I work from home and I spend my week days talking to people on zoom and every evening, I find myself stucked in front of the TV once I back from my 20 minutes walk around the community. The few friends I have in Dundee most of them work at night. I have no one to go out with, and sometimes it feel so boring sitting here watching dramas. Somehow, its affecting my mental health. Is there anywhere you would recommend I visit, to not just pass the time but to socialize and network? I don't take beer or snoke or gamble. Or is there any volunta ..read more

The drunk girl who saw me crying outside the overgate at 2am

I was 5 months pregnant, had just caught my (in hindsight, abusive) partner lying to me & cheating on me, and fled from his house. I was wandering aimlessly outside the overgate, breaking down in tears, feeling entirely helpless and lost as I watched what I was building my future on slip away from me. You’d been out for a night of drinks, and you were standing waiting on a taxi. You noticed me, and you sat me down on the bench, held my hand, kissed my cheek, called me a beautiful woman & told me to tell you everything. I did, best I could through my kinda pathetic wailing, but you wer ..read more

Hello, we are 3 current first year students in the university of Dundee who are looking for accomodation for next academic year. We have a couple places we are going to view. But we were wondering if any students who have lived in Dundee longer have any advice on letting agencys or accomodation providers or types to avoid. I have heard Rockford and sandstone are to be avoided Thanks in advance for any information. This information would be much appreciated to help make a better choice. submitted by /u/Federal-Relation5414 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dundee commercial aviation flight path change?

I never used to hear any planes, aside from the local airport ones, but recently over the last 12 months or so, have heard jet liners flying overhead pretty frequently, even at unsociable hours. Its really annoying. It never used to be the case, and the air traffic is almost always Amsterdam to the USA, or Germany to the USA. Does anyone know if there has been some changes to the air corridors over the last year or so? I never remember it being so noisy for air traffic. Some of the larger planes you hear for at least 5mins as they traverse the area. submitted by /u/Frosty_Citron9 [visit re ..read more
