PIA first visited Birmingham with a 747 on September 3, 1999 to celebrate BHX's 60th anniversary (I think). They started flights in April 2000 with a twice-weekly service to Pakistan via Copenhagen with B747's (due to runway limitations at BHX). A third daily service was added in December 2000. In June 2001, Airbus A310's began to be used making the flight direct, and a new LHE-BHX-YYZ and KHE-ISB-BHX-YYZ was added. Around that time 747's were occasionally used. Looks like SV (Saudia) will be starting up 4 x flights per week using B789 BHX-JED from 1st June (according to a Sales Rep I spoke with yesterday). Good news for another Middle East Carrier starting up! No word as yet on what days the flights will operate. I dare say I will get this information closer to June ..read more

Easyjet have just announced there 3rd route from Birmingham Airport. They already operate seasonal winter services to Grenoble and Geneva but have also just added twice daily flights to Belfast commencing from October 22nd.
As things stand both bmi baby and flybe both already operate the Birmingham - Belfast services but with bmi babys future been in in air still I wonder if Easyjet are looking to step in and replace them at Birmingham Airport ..read more

I know we have had some WIZZ flights as well as Ryanair into BHX but have there been any others that I am not aware of. BA put the BA036 into CWL (instead of BHX) at the last minute!
BHX is now open for business (after being open / closed at least three times this morning).
What I cannot understand is that we all knew this weather was coming (since at least the middle of last week) and we still get caught out.
