Unless Jake leaves or they hire a new brewer at Helios, it’s probably the last time they’ll feature as the number one episode of each season. And with Helios taking out #85 on the GABS 2023 Hottest 100 Countdown, that’s not likely.  jump to video Adsy and Joel sat does with Jake to get the story behind the man. #20 – matt from brew baron beer co There’s probably not too many people in the Brisbane brewing scene who wouldn’t know Matt from Brew Baron Beer Co. He’s also well known in home brew and general beer communities online because he’s brash, honest and knowledgeable. He and Adsy actually did the Certificate III in Food Processing (Brewing) at the same time, which is where they first met. A battle of egos and laughs has turned into a lasting friendship over beer and many other topics. Today we sit down and get the Matt Wolfe story about TAFE, Parched, and most importantly Brew Baron Beer Co ..read more

Not just any beer writer, but an award winning author! You might know him The Crafty Pint, but he’s also just released a new book titled “Beer Drinker’s Toolkit“, helping people to learn more about the most consumed alcoholic beverage in the world. Hopefully we get our facts straight, dot all of our i’s and cross all of the t’s correctly on this article, because he can write and we, well, we drink beer. Hopefully he doesn’t send us any ed ..read more

Adsy At The indies 2023 Last week (August 23rd to be exact), Adsy attended Australia’s craft beer night of nights, the Indies 2023! Lucky as it was for many QLD locals this year that Brewcon was held on the beautiful Gold Coast, Australias premier destination for suntan lotion and botox. Thankfully, that’s not why the majority of the visitors that Adsy was hanging around were interested in. It was Brewcon,  the largest craft beer conference in Australia, followed up on the closing night by the Indies for 2023. So, what are the Indies, why did Adsy go, and what is Brewcon all about? #18 – Jaimie beer traveller So Adsy met Jaimie, a Beer Traveller from the United States of America, while sitting at Hiker Brewing Concern one afternoon. It was only 5 minutes into the conversation before Adsy had heard enough and asked Jaimie if she’d be keen to film an interview. Little did Adsy know that there were two issues with his request. 1; Jaimie dislikes social media and being filmed, and 2; Jaimie was only in the country for another week. Turns out, a few Hiker beers are perfect for convincing US beer tourists to have a chat. Who knew? Somehow the memo got missed about the inter ..read more

Submitting Indie Beers:  indies 2023 part 1 Submitting Indie beers is one of the first and most important steps in the process, because you need to know the future! This is part 1 of our blog post series of Adsy at the Indies. We wrote our expectations in our very first blog post here.  Well before the beers are even brewed, the Independent Brewers Association (IBA), will announce the dates of when you can submit beers to the Indies. You’re able to kind of guess when the Indies are on if Brewcon is coming around that time, but still, you want to make sure of the dates before putti ..read more
