I have read many threads on rear end swaps but I cannot find a definitive answer on what is involved in swapping a 2.92 posi out a GT into a base V6. Obviously the mountings are the same. What I would like to know, is if this is a straight bolt-in swap? The questions really are: Is the pinion flange the same between V6 and GT? Will the V6 axles fit in the GT rear end? Just had a new gm trans installed along with a yankss 2800, and now the car will not crank. Scan tool is not able to communicate with ecm. Trans was flashed successfully with a new stock file. The shop said its nothing they did that would cause this issue....they inspected the wires and fuses and pulled the ecm off and bench tested it and it communicated perfectly. They tried using my efi live autocal and got the ecm communication error. I am picking it up tomorrow to have it towed to a... New trans and car won't crank ..read more

I need help diagnosing this rattle, here’s what I know and what happened prior to the rattle. So i'm driving along today... And I try to downshift as I am coming to a stop... But the car stays in D. (on the DIC) Called onstar to do a remote diagnosis, but there were no current codes or any stored codes (this sorta led me to believe it was mechanical instead of electrical, hopefully an easy fix!)
