Carrier Bearing bushing starting to split

The bushing on my Gen 2 driveshaft carrier bearing is starting to split. Some history behind it, the lift on my truck (and possibly some sag from a worn transmission mount that was already replaced) affected the driveshaft angle and put stress on the bearing, which resulted in some vibration upon acceleration. That has been corrected with spacers and the truck is driving fine now, and no vibration, so the stress on the bearing should be relieved now. I'm getting the carrier bearing rebuilt... Half Shaft Issue

2004 SR5 4.7, automatic, 4 door, 4WD. Front driver side half shaft started leaking at seal next to differential. It appeared to have pulled out of the differential about .25”-.5”allowing the differential fluid to drain out. The dealer was several months back ordered with PN 43430-0C010 so I replaced the half shaft with Napa PN 94-4041 (dealer said it was the OEM match) and it does the same thing. It will pull out of the differential about 1/4-1/2”. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance ..read more

Hi everyone- first time poster but long time reader here. I know this question has been asked a million times, but I feel like I've tried the obvious solutions and still no success. My 4.7 2009 Tundra started doing the belt squeak. Again. So I replaced the serpentine belt with a new Gates belt and replaced the idler pulley. All the other bearings feel nice and quiet. It was great for about 1,000 miles, and then started squeaking again, now worse than before. It starts with excessive... '09 4.7 Tundra belt squeaking again ..read more

Universal Joint Very Stiff

Good evening, I replaced my carrier bearing on my 2008 Tundra and found the center U-Joint was also bad. I’ve tried two different U-joints from Napa, SKF, part # UJ331 and UJ331C. They both go in just fine until I install the retaining clips. It’s so tight that I can’t hardly swivel the joint by hand. And the two retaining clips have a slight bulge in the center as if they are going to spring out. Are the Tundra's picky? Are there retaining clips with different thicknesses maybe? No idea... 2nd Gen Driveshaft Replacement

I’m looking for an online retailer that I can buy a new driveshaft from. I replaced all the U-joints and carrier bearing in my Tundra and now I have a nasty vibration. I marked the alignment of my driveshaft when I did it so I know it went back together the right way. All I can think is that I dinged something when I was working on it. The nearest driveshaft balancing place is hours away. So that’s not really an option. I’ve dropped the drive shaft 4 times now and I can’t seem to figure it... 2nd Gen Driveshaft Replacement ..read more

Predeterminded Misfires on cyl 1

2013 Sequoia- I've been experiencing cylinder 1 misfires for months. Replaced coil pack & plug with no noticeable change. Since the start, I could always turn off the car and most of thr time, upon the second start, it would be fine. I've now observed what I believe to b3 very consistent behavior: 1) cold starts - 100% of the time, will start with misfires, CEL on (I have not been clearing it recently), and will begin to blink after running for several seconds, I'm assuming there's a lag... Hello Yota owners, I have a 2014 1794 edition Toyota tundra. I have taken the truck to several Toyota dealerships, and they all are saying the same thing replace the engine. they have detected coolant leaking in cylinder 7 and 8 is there any other solution other replacing the engine. I've never had any major work done to it, I kept it serviced and has been the owner for about 3 years. Also, the truck still runs it, but the computer says it runs hot but when I check the hood its completely... coolant leak ..read more

I've looked for an hour and can't find the input sensor on the front of the transmission. I've compared my truck to a dozen images on here, and I think my truck is just missing it, AND the wire harness to it. Let me know if you can find it in these pics ..read more

What part did I F up?

Long story short....my valve had a slow leak, I didn't drive it for over a month. Tire was flat and wouldn't inflate, so I drove it from street into drive to remove tire. I went to jack it up, and missed the front axle and hit oil pan. Now I have a leak at this junction (oil pan to ??). What is this part? Will a drain and gasket/liquid gasket fix it? I am already beating myself up, so no need to call me a dumbass. I am. Thanks in advance. Chris ..read more
