Hi guys, My daughter just bought 2005 350Z. About 131,000. The inner boot on the driver's side rear axle is completely torn in half. She bought a new "Import Direct" axle from O'Reilly but I know Z-1 has a rebuild kit for the inner boot for about $50. Z-1 axle service kit My question would be is if the existing axle is an OEM, would it be better to just use the Z-1 kit and if so, how can I tell if the existing axle is OEM? Or maybe the OEM axles aren't anything special and the O'Reilly one is just as good? Thanks for any input ..read more

She also said a couple times at stoplights that after being in neutral, that she could not get it to go into gear, and had to turn the car off and wait several minutes, then it was OK again. A friend or hers replaced the slave and adjusted the pedal but it's still sticking and the engagement point now seems way too low, (too close to the floor) and the throw just seems really short. I am having a really strange issue and I'm trying to see what I am capable of checking before sending back to my tuner's shop I'll try to keep it short as possible.. 2007 bone stock 350z with 90k miles. drives perfect. 2005 350Z with OEM 8 hole cover. I believe the Fel-Pro Part # is RDS 27275 but not 100% certain. Might just do a drain and fill but if we decide to pull the cover, want to be prepared. Thanks ..read more

Hey guys/gals, I tried to post this question on FB, waited 3 days and no response. Anyhow, I’ve got a problem, when I started to turn the engine over with ratchet, to install converter bolts, I heard a scrubbing. After removing the starter, the sound goes away. So, obviously striking the starter with flex-plate, my question is why, this engine/trans combo had never been separated, till I had to install Z transmission, found out the G trans had a different wiring harness, I’m sticking to the Z stuff in my Z. It says it's GL4 and GL5 compatible. Hey guys, me again. So I have the cam sprockets all lined up according to FSM with dowel placement. I confirmed this by putting on the sprockets together with the secondary chain on them. However, I was wondering if the cams are correct. According to FSM, the cam lobes on Cylinder #1 intake and exhaust face each other. Which they appear to do in my picture below. However, Cylinder 6, the valve lifter is pushed downward, again the cam sprockets are aligned with timing cover marks and chain marks.
