I picked this guy up yesterday from marketplace. This is what he was living like before. 1 bowl, 1 rock. Mix of aspen, sand, wood chippings. Cat scratcher in the middle with some vines wrapped around, a heat mat and a basking bulb with no stat. He's now got a big old hide (perfect size for him) reptisoil mixed with bark (can't remember the name of it), water bowl on the COLD end, he'll be getting a cold hide soon too. Sorry in advance, I'm sure this is way too much info. Simon is my 9 month old super russo BEL, and he's usually a pretty lazy little guy, more active at night, but chill. I switched out the hides as recommended! This is my first snake of my very own! I grew up with them as pets from a young age, but until now have never been the caretaker on my own. This is a confirmed male Mojave het Desert Ghost, born in July 2022. He settled in very well, I was happy to see! It’s the first time in 4 years she’s done this, im suspecting it’s because the heat in my house went out on a particularly cold night (3 days after I fed), and despite having my tank temps consistently correct the cold side still dipped down into the high 60°s, and that’s where she spent the night sleeping. Didn’t think much of it since I figured If she got cold she’d seek out the warm side, which stayed at 90°.
