I am currently driving back to port from this excursion. The bus used is perfect for the drive to and from the park.. beautiful new large air conditioned bus. However, it was the same bus used for the drive through!!! The pictures shown for our excursion displayed open air trolley type vehicle but this was not used. The windows on the bus were tinted and grimy and did not offer great visibility. The walking part of the zoo was rough gravel… nothing but at bathrooms and restaurant was paved making it impossible to use a wheelchair and would be difficult if not impossible with a stroller. Hello! I have been planning a 16 day Panama Canal cruise in October 2024 and have booked an excursion at every port except Puerto Quetzal. I am on a RCCL cruise (Radiance of the Seas) and have been wanting to do a Pacaya Volcano Hike and I know NCL offers the excursion (5.5 hours) but so far RCCL has not offered a similar excursion. Hello, We will be in Puerto Quetzal on a Sunday and wish to go to Antigua on our own. Will there be taxis available at the port to take us there, and taxis available in Antigua to return us to port? I was wondering if anyone has recently done any of the Antigua tours from either of the cruise ports lately. The last report in the forums I can find looks to be from 2018. A lot can change on the ground, politically, in a country in that amount of time.   I'd really like to do the self-guided Antigua tour that Celebrity offers. Just thought I would post some details about our recent day in Santo Tomas as there seemed very little info available on the forums.   Our ship Marella discovery 2 docked in Santo Tomas which is a container port so there is no where to walk to. Once you get off the ship there is a large warehouse with indoor market selling some nice handmade crafts just remember to barter to about 1/4 of their starting price.      Outside there are many taxi and mini buses taking you on a trip inland or boat companies taking you up the dulce river and Livingston. We are trying to decide what to do while at port in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.  I have viewed a few Youtube videos of the port area, but it didn't look as though there were many (if any) restaurant/bar areas.  Perhaps there is more than the videos are showing.    If there is not much at the port, we will likely do an excursion to either Antigua or Guatemala City.   Thanks ..read more
