Thought I’d share this long day. My 11 A3 sportback manual fwd was purchased in 13 with 7k .I have a revo tune,after the usual downpipe exhaust intake clutch mods At 62k. After I heard the stories about the timing chain,and my corvette builder will work on the Audi as long as I wrench too.I wish I would’ve known a new oil pump chain didn’t come but everything else was there. They do love silicone over gaskets. I have 800 miles and two oil changes and three filters on the break in. Interested in knowing your response to (accidentally) finding out that my right front tire had 3-blocks still left after picking up new car at dealer in 2015. Finding these after taking delivery is not unusual. (previously found on a new Porsche and BMW.) What is mind boggling is finding them on a car with $67,000 miles. I have had problems off/on for years not being able to take speed bumps, having to install a metal oil pan cover and having pot hole damage. Hmmm... I'm not at all happy. Hi Legends of the Audi world - I have an 2018 Audi A3 with 60,000 kms on clock. A while ago I hit a rut in the road where somebody had dug across road and back filled - the car bottomed out at around 40 kms an hour. After this on the highway I noticed a whirring sound at exactly 100 kms per hour - sounded rotation but didn't increased or decrease at different speeds but disappeared at around 95 and 110k. This continued for a couple of months and as I was due for service I had the car fully serviced by an Audi dealer who said they found no issues. I have a mechanic that normally works on performance cars but when I did the downpipe exhaust and a revo tune at 10 k the clutch started slipping and he agreed to do a spec clutch.Since then I’ve been able to do my own maintenance. But I’m now at 62 k and still love the car so I’m going with the $400 ECS kit that he says is a full day.
