Plymouth v Swansea Sat 23 Oct 15:00 Here’s a review of today’s game at Plymouth. Of the three teams promoted from League One last season, Ipswich are flying, 2nd in the table, Plymouth are stuttering a bit after a good start, one place below us in 16th spot, Rotherham are in 23rd place and struggling. Plymouth have won two from the last 6 games, the most recent last Tuesday night’s 0-2 home defeat against Millwall. They have a strong home record though, for example the 6-2 demolishing of Norwich recently, so this match will be a tough one for us. Pederson is still out injured, Cabango is doubt ..read more

Swansea v Norwich, Wed 4 Oct, 19:45 After two successive 3-0 wins can we now look forward with optimism to the rest of the season? The wins have given a big confidence boost to the team and it shows. The big question is if we can carry forward this new found confidence into positive results in the next two games before the International break or has it just been a false dawn? Norwich at home on Wednesday and Plymouth away next Saturday are huge tests and could be season changing games or more disappointment. Well we’ve had enough of disappointments already this season after going the first sev ..read more

Millwall v Swansea Sat 30 Sept 3pm It’s amazing what a win can do to confidence. We can now look to the next few games with renewed vigour after getting that monkey off our back. The game was in parts not pretty, with the Owls rough play resulting in two of our players going off injured but this time we came out on top. First up in a tough next run of fixtures is Millwall at the Lions Den next Saturday. They’ve had an average start with W3 D2 L3 so far and last time out drew at West Brom 0-0, missing a penalty that would have given them the away win. One result that stood out was their 0-3 rec ..read more

The clock is ticking with league game number 8 coming up, 3 points from a possible 21 so far is relegation form and it can’t continue. Already 16 points behind the leaders Preston, it’s not a good read after hopes were so high of us going for the play-offs this season. Pressure is mounting on Duff and the team with every passing game without a win. We have just gone through a sequence of very winnable games and after today’s match against Sheff Wed they get tougher. Millwall (A) Norwich (H) Plymouth (A) Leicester (H) Watford (H) Blackburn (A) Sunderland (H) Ipswich (A) Hull (H) Leeds (A) Try a ..read more

QPR v Swans Tuesday 19 September 19:45 Reflecting on the shambles of yesterday, where it took us until 10 minutes before the end of the match to get a shot on target, it was probably the worst we’ve ever played in a local derby. That was on top of the shambles at home to Bristol City two weeks ago, so is there any hope of a turn around in form? This week we have 20th place QPR away on Tuesday and next Saturday 23rd place Sheff Wed. Minimum four points required if we are to start clawing our way back up the table. We are in 22nd place with two points from eigh****, and four consecutive defeats ..read more

After three defeats in the week preceding the International break, we resume our Championship season in mid September still looking for our first win. Being in the relegation zone in 20th place is not where we expected to be, especially after signing 13 players to improve the squad during the summer Transfer Window. Yes we have a new head-coach and he needs time, but he’d better start winning games pretty darn quick or he’ll be looking for a new job. Then, to rub it in, and at the worst possible time up pops the local derby fixture, away to huge rivals Cardiff. So here we are, Saturday 16 Sept ..read more

Buoyed by the four signings on deadline day of the transfer window, yesterday (see the transfer window thread), we go into today’s match at home to Bristol City full of confidence. It’s an early kick-off at 12:30 and the weather is sunny in Swansea for a change after all the rain we’ve had in the last two months. Narrowly beaten by an injury time goal against Bournemouth in a much improved performance midweek, we look to get our first win of the season in the league at the fifth attempt after two draws at home and two away defeats by the odd goal. I expect an unchanged side for the Swans to th ..read more
