Hi I was looking for some advise in regards to the stronic gearbox’s I’ve had some problems with a friend of mine it has already had the metronic unit replaced prior to purchasing but recently the car had started crunching in to get then gradually got worse and the other day stopped selecting gears then would work again after a while. Changed the gearbox oil today used genuine oil upon draining the old oil out there was very minimal oil in it would say about 100ml. There is a lot of water trapped under the carpet of my 2012 A1 ( 3 door model ). I have pulled back the carpet in either side of the centre console in the front and squeezed out a significant amount of the water, but there is still a lot of water further back which I cannot get to. I would like to remove the entire carpet and dry it out. Would anyone here have step by step instructions on how to achieve this? TIA ..read more

Evening all, my A1 has gone into limp mode due to the DPF issue (clogged) I noticed the air-temp sensor wire was broken which after driving for several hours long distance and some city driving may have caused the DPF to not self clean and has built up so much it’s in limp mode. I believe what I need now is to get a DPF cleaned out by a DPF trained mechanic (forced clean) I assume that once it is cleaned out the car will auto correct itself and come out of limp mode ? My second question is could the power steering issue be related to being in limp mode ? The fault code for this issue is 01309 ..read more

My 2014 1.6tdi power steering has gone heavy and the yellow steering wheel light has come on the dash. AA have been out and said there is no fault codes on the machine and it needs to go into a garage, which I'm struggling to find one to fit me in. Has anyone any ideas or had this problem? Hi all, having a disaster with my car right now. I have a 2013 Audi a1 and the drivers side footwell is drownded wet including the back. The passenger side completely dry.No mechanic is getting back to me so seeing if anyone else has had this problem and found the answer. I have cleared out the tray in bonnet no water there, i dont have a sunroof, seals on door are fine and no leaking from the windscreen. The leak seems to be coming in low as seats and doors are never wet.  I took up the carpet from the back and there was some cracks i filled with silicone, since then i havent drove it on ..read more
