Hi everyone! I’m flying to California mid May for work and extending my stay to see more of the area. Hoping to hike some trails in the national parks. I’m keeping an eye on road closures mentioned on their site, so the itinerary will be fluid. Thinking Thurs-Sunday explore and by Sun night be in SFO by 6PM.
We’d be leaving Menlo Park area very early Thursday to head over to possibly Yosemite. How are the conditions around that time? Is one day in Yosemite enough to get an idea for the park? I’m debating whether or not we should do Yosemite AND Sequoia but I’m worried we’d be doing more drivi ..read more

Hey guys, visiting from the UK. Had this trip planned for around 6 months, I arrived a day ago and just saw that through was closed and the YARTS buses aren’t running.
I have no car and was relying on public transport to get into Yosemite. I am stuck at the bug hostel, just wanted to ask here what my options are. As far as I can see there isn’t any way to get into Yosemite via public transport.
I am here till Wednesday, any suggestions would be super appreciated.
Cheers

We are headed out for our first visit the week of April 20th. We have 2 kids ages 10 and 12.
Any tips on what to bring / pack beyond the standard?
We are excited for this trip!

I’ll be in the valley this weekend and I wanted to try snowshoeing. Unfortunately it looks like Badger Pass is closed. Does anyone know if there are open snowshoe trails right now? And if so, can I rent snowshoes anywhere?

Planning a trip for the last week of June. Arriving at Yosemite on Saturday Afternoon. We we want to stop and explore Kings Canyon/Sequoia a little as well. I need to be in LA by Thursday night or Early Friday Morning.
My current plan was:
Sat - Arrive at Yos.
Sun - yos.
Mon -Yos
Tues - Yosemite until Afternoon, then Drive to KC/Seq.
Wed- KC/Seq.
Thurs - KC/Seq. Drive to LA in the Afternoon.
Are there good hikes in Sequoia? would you just stay at Yosemite longer?
First time at either park.
Thanks!
