Aberdeen, Scotland is the venue for these championships for both Men and Women from 18 to 25 November. Teams in the A-Division can qualify for the World Curling Championships and two teams are relegated from the A-Division each season. The Women's teams are Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and Türkiye. The Scots gained a merited Bronze Medal last year  probably exceeding expectations, due to their relative inexperience. This year they will be challenging for a medal once again, more than likely  against their main rivals Italy, Switzer ..read more

In a mad dash to keep pace with my curling commitments, I've joined in on the first day in Lohja, Finland for these Championships. There are only 11 countries entered from Brazil, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and Switzerland. The three podium-finisher teams in Lohja qualify for the world championship, taking place in March 2024 in Gangneung, Korea. Round-robin play starts on Sunday 5 November and continues until Thursday 9 November. The teams have been placed into one group and will play a round robin. At the end of the round robin, a ranking wil ..read more

This year's Championships get underway in Aberdeen, Scotland, on Saturday 14 October to Saturday 21 October. Aberdeen was the birthplace of many famous people, notably Henry Cecil, racehorse trainer (I could hardly believe that either), Graham Garden of The Goodies (equally unbelievable), Denis Law and Paul Lawrie (now that's more like it!). The participating teams are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Czechia, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, P ..read more

The competing teams in the Fours event are Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Norway, Scotland, Sweden and United States. Scotland is represented by Gregor Ewan (4th and Vice-Skip), Hugh Nibloe (3rd and Skip) Gary Logan (2nd) and Joanna Butterfield with Alternate Meggan Dawson-Farrell. They will play Korea and United States o ..read more
