Hi guys, thinking of going to Italy skiing with the family. The kids are all under 8yrs old. I’ve had a recommendation for livigno but the nearly four hours transfer is not desirable at all. The resorts closest to Turin are all two hours or less transfer times but I don’t know anyone who has been and the travel agents are more familiar with France and Austria. Any recommendations would be much appreciated ..read more

Advice on whether to switch from board to skis

Just looking for opinions. Family going skiing in December. The kids are beginners so am thinking skiing is the way to go for them but it's my option I am stumped. I went snowboarding about 4 times 18-20 years ago. I'm 48 now and wondering should I just swap and do the beginner skiing with the kids or get a refresher on the board? Could be harder relearning on the board and spending time on my a*se. It's not as handy getting up these days :) I don't know what I will be like. Has anybody taken an extended time out and how have they found it going back? Thanks ..read more

I hate missing out on the annual short 'lads' ski holiday but I just don't think this year is the year for it. Normally around 10 of us go to Mayrhofen/Soll/Solden/ etc. for 4 nights. Austria is great. We have been to Italy and Andorra and it has not been as good. Any suggestions on a 3 night break to a resort that is a close commute to a resort. Ideally with flights Thursday to Sunday etc. night life isn't a worry this year. More concerned with comfort and access (getting old) and I'll probably only ask my brother or 2 others if they want to go ..read more

Seeing as there is nothing about this coming winter season I thought I’d start. The current conditions in the alps are epic with some of the heaviest snow on record in December. I’ll be in Courchevel on Wednesday for a few days and will post about the whole experience including the ease or difficulty of skiing with masks and the various restrictions in place. Anyone else going soon ..read more

We've 15 days booked, departing 14 Jan for Austria. Kitzbühel for a week for the Hahnenkamm Races and Zell am See for another week. Woke up to news this morning of lockdowns now in Austria. Skiing prob not gonna happen for us this year is it? Bigger problems in the world I accept. We're going on a tailor-made package so covered on all of the costs aspects etc etc etc ..read more

It's my husband's 40th birthday in December so I am looking to book a trip away for new years to celebrate. I know he would love to ski but I'm thinking a week would be too much for me so wondering if we could do 3 or 4 days skiing and then maybe a 2 or 3 days city break also. Anybody ever do this or could recommend anywhere. Thinking Italy would be nice. Or is there any specialist travel agent that might be able to help?? Thanks ..read more

Fischer Motiv 86 plus Attack 13 bindings. I’ve had these for 8 years and skied about 40 days on them. Plenty of scrapes on top of skis but the bases are good and a wax and they would be perfect. They are 168 length and 86 wide, good all mountain ski. Selling them as I bought new skis last year and they are just in the way at home. €70 ..read more
