If you shoot one, east or west side, post em up with a story. I passed a spike opening morning and saw like 8 or 9 does. My brother decided to shoot the spike so at least I got to pack some meat. I’m holding out for one of the three mature ones I scouted in summer ..read more

So I drew for the B unit at miller island for the opener, just curious if any has hunted there before and knew how the whole process worked. My plan was to drive down Friday so find a couple good spots then sleep in the truck in line. If anyone has any experience with that opener or how the whole check in process works any info would be appreciated ..read more

Took my son out to 4 Aces pig shooting last monday. Got two. He wanted a big one so shot a big one, about 400+ pounds! Shot it with my 25-06 and 117gr Hornady Interlock. I chose a smaller one, better eating I think! 285 pounds. Got it with my 6.5x55 and 140gr Speer hot core. We got them both with shot's into the neck ust behind the hear, they simply fell down! Got some ribs frozen and ground up 20poiunds of sausage. Still have some more to process but don't recall what all there is. Some... Read more ..read more

Wondering if anyones tried hunting these little buggers? As far as I know there’s no closed season or bag limit, and they’re an invasive and DESTRUCTIVE species. I’ve also read that they’re not bad tasting, pretty similar to rabbit (found some Cajun recipes for them) so I’m figuring why not give hunting them a try? I just don’t really know where to start beside look near water. I see them in town (Eugene) all the time, along the river banks, ponds, and on the golf courses, but I haven’t... Read more ..read more

Hey Gang, Just reaching out to see if anybody would be willing to allow the use of their property/land for some dog training. I've got 1 spaniel at the moment that is all passed obedience training and is ready to start with bird work. We need some land that would be suitable for pointing drills, flushing work, and blank gunfire if possible. Thanks to anybody with access or recommendations ..read more

Anybody have any leads to good public rabbit hunting grounds? Jack rabbit or cottontails. I loved hunting rabbits on my property in Michigan and miss the heck out of it. I would say I'd like to take a few people or meet some folks to join up for a shoot but the last time I did that I was almost shot. Literally at point blank range. So I will only rabbit hunt with someone who has taken their hunter safety course and passed. Rabbits have a way of running in between people and I like to... Read more ..read more

Hi there. I have always had bear and cougar tags whenever I hunted deer and elk but I have never specifically hunted bear. I have always wanted to hunt bear but had a lack of interested relatives. This august and fall it is possible I could have the time to hunt for bear specifically with another interested family member. The problem is I have numerous bits of conflicting advise received in years past regarding bear hunting. On that topic was were I thought some of you on this forum... Read more ..read more
