Sounds like CNF finally cut over to their new frequency pair for their Forest Net. Been hearing them loud and clear in OC from the Santiago repeater the last couple of days, but haven't heard any traffic on the old Forest net pair. I received a DMR close call hit on this frequency in the area of MacArthur Blvd. and the 55 Freeway in Santa Ana. Talkgroups 203, 204, & 210 with a color code of 2 are very active all hours day and night. Not sure where it's coming from but it does seem to be large area coverage. I've searched the FCC database and there are licensees in the area, none of them to me would be this busy. South Coast Plaza is close by but I have confirmed it is not them. City of Ventura is looking to get approval to buy 168 APX8000 VHF/800 radios to replace their aging XTS1500 VHF radios. Looking at the options the radio will have ENC, the request does not cover mobile radios. Looks like they plan on joining the county system in the future.
