I’m going to be heading to LA soon for a vacation and I would like to know about the frequencies and systems that LAPD use and LAFD use and I would also want to know about any other interesting stuff to monitor, for police I am particularly interested in all areas and departments I also would want to listen to detectives and CID, and Swat. Also does LAPD use any helicopter frequencies that you can listen to? And can I get a coverage map of all LAPD departments because I searched up the...

Sounds like CNF finally cut over to their new frequency pair for their Forest Net. Been hearing them loud and
clear in OC from the Santiago repeater the last couple of days, but haven't heard any traffic on the old Forest
net pair. I heard Comms units still testing the new pair over the last weekend, so they may have fully cutover

So far there are several threads on the ICIS, but none of them dedicated to actually catalog TGIDs found on the systems. I know there is an RR Database page for ICIS. However, since this seems to be a work still in progress and many of us are monitoring the systems to find new TGIDs and new usage, I thought a thread to report and discuss this activity would serve us well.
Please add to what I have and correct any mistakes. This will serve to create a master database of the...

I received a DMR close call hit on this frequency in the area of MacArthur Blvd. and the 55 Freeway in Santa Ana.
Talkgroups 203, 204, & 210 with a color code of 2 are very active all hours day and night.
Not sure where it's coming from but it does seem to be large area coverage.
I've searched the FCC database and there are licensees in the area, none of them to me would be this busy.
South Coast Plaza is close by but I have confirmed it is not them.
Thanks, Randy ..read more

City of Ventura is looking to get approval to buy 168 APX8000 VHF/800 radios to replace their aging XTS1500 VHF radios. Looking at the options the radio will have ENC, the request does not cover mobile radios. Looks like they plan on joining the county system in the future.
Radio option break down starts on page 44.

So I'll be in Orange County (Anaheim) in Mid October for a much needed vacation from Virginia. It's also been ten years since I've stepped foot there. I have a question about Metronet-North Cities. I do monitor via Broadcastify regularly, so I'm somewhat versed enough. Does Metronet assign a different tac for working incidents (I.E structure fires, accident w/ entrapment)? I'll hear the dispatch, but nothing else. I do hear the usual ops on the city tac TG's, but nothing on any active...
