Hello and a happy new year, :) I have TrueNAS installed and want to install the Nextcloud addon. But I want that Nextcloud saves its data via a SMB share in a Windows folder. Is this possible? (This is the opposite way I want to have it... Read more ..read more

Hi everyone, I had a desire to install Mysql in a jail on my Freenas 11.2 server. I found many, many tutorials and discussions. Some were old and didn't seem to apply. Some seemed newer, but when followed resulted in errors that I could not explain. I did end up getting something to work using a combination of various posts I found. I am posting this here to hopefully help others in the same situation, but to also ask if there are steps I missed, or shouldn't have done, or could have done a... Read more ..read more

As the title states- some context: I built a computer to start a NAS just a few months ago and its main existence in life is to serve as my media delivery system. It works beautifully, and as expected. I have some issues. 1. I am unable to locate these 35,000+ files that Plex is scanning everytime I add new media to my server. I do know how these files originated. I attempted to add a movie to my server through my MacBook as the media was from iTunes. I quickly learned that was not going... Read more ..read more

My goal is to send a proxmox snapshot to a TrueNAS share loaded over NSF in my proxmox called Backup. I followed some tutorials I found online but I'm not sure it its stable for me. New to TrueNAS, a couple decades of computer tech / software dev / network admin / etc. I understand RAID concepts and approaches. I'm building a NAS, all new hardware, atx case, ASRock mb, amd cpu, 32g ram. It will primarily serve as a Plex server, but also will have a need to store some documents such as tax returns, wedding photos, etc, no requirements on anything but plex to have read/write performance, and plex already handles read performance so no real requirement there. I have 2... Read more ..read more
