Image above captured with tripod and Canon Mark iii 5D and 10 second timer.
When capturing a self portrait it’s important to have an entire scene set up in a way that you can easily exit and re-enter the frame when using a timer. A remote clicker is even better as it allows you to continue to shoot without exiting the scene, just know your hand holding the clicker may be visible and therefore should be hidden or discreet if desired.

Acorns - This app is great for setting aside money automatically into your 401K, you can choose the amount. And I increase that amount during busy season and lower it in the summer when money is tighter. Either way it’s setting a small amount aside as low as $5 a week (less than a coffee) and it adds up quickly over the year.

The Principal of Design: Emphasis
Emphasis, is a principal of design, it is the art of creating focal points that draw the viewer's attention and direct it towards a specific element within a composition. This technique allows designers and artists to highlight key subjects or ideas, adding depth and meaning to their work.
Emphasis Using PERSPECTIVE Get closer to the subject for a more dramatic perspective, which also creates emphasis. Put the camera at a low or high angle near the focal point of the photo.
If you have a repeated element in your image - such as the pink flower in this photo ..read more

Introduction to the Exposure Triangle
The Exposure Triangle is the three working elements of a developed film frame/digital image. These three components work together to capture light and document that data in a way that allows us to view the image in accurate color and brightness.
The first component is ISO. You can read the full write up of ISO here, but to break it down simply, the ISO is the film speed (or digital variation of film speed) and this is how sensitive the fim is to light. If it’s a low number it is less sensitive so 100-200 is slow, and least sensitive, you use this when the ..read more
