Hello!   After a year of engagement (and a year of convincing...) my fiance and I decided to do a cruise wedding! After a lot of research, I think we're going to do a group cruise out of NYC on Norwegian. With that being said - does anyone have any Norwegian cruise line tips, wedding tips, or experiences? We're mainly trying to figure out WHERE/HOW to get married. I'd love to hear about where exactly you got married on Norwegian cruises (links to reviews would be great too!)   TIA ..read more

Looking for a Honeymoon Cruise

Hello everyone   My partner and I have been on several cruises over the years, and when we tie the knot in 2025, we're looking to spend our honeymoon on yet another cruise!   We're looking to cruise out of Miami, and would be keen to visit St Maarten, Aruba, and maybe Cuba - if possible. We're quiet outgoing party people and so we're looking for a cruise that maximises our time in each port, so we can experience a wee bit of the nightlife. We've also found on most of the crusies we've done before, the nightlife on the ship wasn't as popular as we would have liked, with him and I bein ..read more

Destination Ceremony

I’m starting the process of planning a 2024 wedding on Carnival. My plan so far is a port ceremony and then reception on the ship. I want a fairly quick and symbolic ceremony with a family member officiating. The price of the destination ceremony package seems exorbitant for what I actually want. I was thinking of just having everyone gather at a beach and having the ceremony without chairs and decorations. The guest count would probably be around 20 and the ceremony maybe 10 minutes. The ports on the itineraries I have narrowed down to are Grand Turk, Amber Cove, San Juan, Nassau and St. Thom ..read more

How Long Until I Get Communication About Availability of a Wedding

I want an "at sea" Mediterranean cruise wedding. I will need a total of 5 cabins for 8 family members plus us. I have narrowed my cruise choices down to 4. My top choice being Celebrity Infinity followed by RCCL's Explorer of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas (2 different dates). I can't call either of these cruise lines' wedding people. Celebrity's flat out says in a recording that they are not taking phone calls, email us. RCCL's went to voicemail yesterday and I left a message. Today, the voice mailbox is full. I have emailed both companies. There are only one sea days on each of these sail ..read more

"traditional" Italian honeymoon VS. Cruise? Help?

Hi everyone,   I've been on exactly one cruise back in 2016 (Carnival) and wasn't a huge fan but my fiancé has taken regular cruises throughout his life. He likes the idea of not having to check in/out, make trains/transportation, etc. I like the idea that we'd be able to relax a bit more and it might be less stressful in the end - and a honeymoon should be just that, right? Europe is our preferred honeymoon destination. We also need to go end of June or beginning of July 2024 because I'm a teacher.   Right now, we're looking at starting in Rome, going to Naples/Positano, then Floren ..read more

Need help with vow renewal ideas please!

Hi all,   We’re sailing on Celebrity in January to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We want to do a vow renewal while on board. Celebrity charges $600 plus extra for the photos (another $400-$2000 package). I have a hard time swallowing that price for a 15 - 20 minute ceremony. It will be just the two of us so there won’t be any extra readings, socializing, gathering for cake or anything like that. So I’m thinking about doing something on our own. I’ve heard some people have a family member or friend officiate but we won’t be traveling with anyone so that’s not an option for us. Has anyone ..read more

Carry-on restrictions for embarkation day wedding? (Carnival)

In our wedding paperwork, I noticed this paragraph and now I'm freaking out a little bit: "The bride and groom may carry on a garment bag in addition to a carry-on bag. Only one hand-carry-on bag will be permitted for sailing guests and must fit through the security machine. Luggage not to exceed 24”w x 16”h. All other bags must be checked with the Porters."   We both use CPAPs, I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user, and I'm bringing my own artificial flowers + a few accents for the reception tables because the all-white color scheme just isn't us (don't get me wrong, I understand if they tri ..read more

Carnival Embarkation Day Wedding?

I tried searching but haven’t found the right combination of search terms. My fiancé and I are planning a wedding on Carnival Spirit in December of ‘23. We’re planning on embarkation day so that his kids and parents can be there without having to take the cruise (grandparents will take them for a week.) Also my brother will be flying in to give me away.   Has anyone else done the embarkation day option? How does that all work? Did you have time to get your hair/makeup done on board ..read more

Long time listener, first time caller...   Fiancé and I are potentially looking at a cruise for our honeymoon since we're struggling to come up with a honeymoon destination.  I've been on a few cruises (2 with Princess, 2 with Celebrity), and she's been on 2 I believe (Celebrity and Disney).  The Princess cruises were over a decade ago, and I remember them geared for young families and the most recent Celebrity Cruise was on a pretty significant older age group which wasn't the same as the previous celebrity.  Looking at taking a Carribean Cruise.  Which cruise lines w ..read more
